In this article, we will move far west and see which American sedans make the cut here in the UAE. Here are five of them, in no particular order.<br><h3>Cadillac ATS</h3><br/>Cadillac is one of the rising stars of the American automotive industry. While the firm is synonymous with SUVs in the Middle Eastern market with products like the Escalade and the XT4, the fact of the matter is that Cadillac makes equally good sedans.<br/>The Cadillac ATS is a prime example, sitting at the entry-level to the Caddy sedan lineup. The ATS looks right on the money with its elegant looks without using too many character lines. Cadillac has extensively benchmarked the ATS against the dominant player in its segment: the BMW 3-Series. The result of this exercise is that the American sedan is now the lightest in its class with a perfect 50:50 weight distribution front-to-rear.<br/>Inside, the sedan is sumptuously laid out with premium materials and intuitive controls and features available at your command. The Impala has survived its choppy ride to 2018 and is now a handsome, understated four-door sedan that packs a decent punch and offers premium interiors.<br/>The Chevrolet Impala places heavy emphasis on passenger comfort and experience. Aside from well-supported seating and sorted suspension, engineers at Chevy also added a lot of insulation to the sedan. The result is a car that lets very little of ambient noises inside the cabin. This is the kind of car that you might not love at first sight, but it will grow on you steadily through your period of ownership.<br/>The 2019 Chevrolet Impala begins from AED 107,850 for the entry-level LS trim, going up to AED 160,900 for the top-end LTZ variant.<br/> <br><h3>Ford Taurus</h3><br>The Taurus is Ford's flagship sedan globally, and could soon be on its way out if Ford goes through with its decision of axing all sedans and hatchbacks from its lineup in favour of SUVs, pickups, and the Mustang. The Blue Oval launched the Taurus in the UAE in 2012 refreshed it in 2015.<br/>The sedan is quite large on the inside with generous space for every occupant. The driver is cocooned in a cockpit-like corner that adds to the driver-oriented role of the car. The seats are well-bolstered all around, and NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) levels are commendably low.<br/>Ford offers the Taurus in the UAE with a choice of engines ranging from a 2.0-litre EcoBoost four-pot to a powerful 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 that makes 371hp and 475Nm. The Ford Taurus starts at AED 121,300 for the base V6 SE trim with the V6 SHO (Super High Output) trim costs AED 209,500.<br/> <br><h3>Dodge Charger</h3><br>If ever there was a car with dual identities, the Dodge Charger would fill in the role aptly. Thi is one American sedan that was a thundering muscle car in its first generation. Dodge gave the Charger a four-door layout so that it could make space for the Challenger, the firm's resident muscle car. However, this does not spell bad news for the Charger.<br/>The car looks aggressive and mean when you view it up front. Lay eyes on it from the back and you will make out a faint resemblance to the muscle car it takes its moniker from. This is a car that wears its four doors proudly. When it comes to the drivetrains, you can choose from a 292-hp V6 to a range-topping 6.2-litre V8 that puts down a staggering 707hp. The latter engine sits under the Charger Hellcat's hood, making it the most powerful four-door sedan on sale today.<br/>The 2019 Dodge Charger begins from AED 132,300 for the SE trim, with the high-end SRT8 model coming in for AED 204,000.<br/> <br><h3>Chrysler 300</h3><br>Although Chrysler is not the most popular brand in the sedan circuit, the fact remains that it makes some pretty kickass cars. The Chrysler 300 is a prime example of a powerful four-door sedan. The company owns Dodge, RAM, and Jeep, and as such leverages the firms' know-how to offer in its own range of products. The 300 might not have a flashy design, but it manages to look premium as well as commanding. Just the kind of sedan that can ferry high-powered executives to their high-powered conferences.<br/>The clinching argument working in favour of the Chrysler 300 is the huge 5.7-litre V8 that is available in two trims. <br/>Ford's Mustang is more than just a nameplate in its line-up. A moniker only becomes heritage if it retains the very principle on which it was built on. And the Mustang falls nothing short of it.<br/>While Ford's pony-bearing muscle has gathered numerous purists over time, we suspect if a lot of them would reckon the first Super Snake. Unlike the name of the car which resembles nothing less than a comic character, the Super Snake still stands as the rarest of all the Mustangs that has ever been made.<br><h4>The Backstory</h4><br>Somewhere around the early 1960s, Carroll Shelby was offered to join a demonstration by Goodyear that was aimed at promoting a new tyre that would take on high-speeds with ease. This coincided with the time when Former Shelby USA Sales Manager Don McCain insisted on Shelby to create a supercar that would house the brutal 427 V8...in a Mustang GT500.<br/>Brutal, because this was the same engine that powered the Ford GT MkII. The mind-boggling engine went under the scalpel to push out 600 ponies and was mated to a brand-new transmission and a unique rear axle for the Super Snake.<br/>McCain said this 427 engine was 'The mother of all 427' due to its exotic and unique components, such as aluminium heads, lighter water pumps and forged Le Mans crank and rods. This was then named to be the first Super Snake. Shelby, who birthed the moniker, himself took guests and journalists out for rides in the Super Snake, clocking maximum speeds of close to 281kph, all while talking to them.<br/>The Super Snake soon became to be known as a stroke of motoring genius. It was then sent off to the Ford Californian dealership to create publicity for a limited run of 50 or more cars. Unfortunately, the car was deemed to be too expensive and hence never made it to mass production.<br/>This meant that the 1967 Super Snake while bearing the badge of the first ever Super Snake is also the only one that was commissioned by the company. The cost of one Super Snake to the public would have been double the price of a standard GT500. That would have made it $8000. Considering the value of Dollar back then, this was a fortune.<br/>Fortunately, this one-of-a-kind GT500 was preserved. It was shipped off to Dallas when it was then bought by two Airway Pilots, who modified it further for drag racing. As one can expect, the car was passed on, bought out and sold at auctions. As the car stands now, we learnt that one of the owners even fitted a new set of Goodyear thunderbolt tyres it was created to promote, all those years ago.<br/>In 2013, it was sold at an auction to its current owner, John Wickey for $1.3 million. Now, it is up for auction again next January at the 10-day Mecum Auctions Kissimmee.<br><h4>Silver Lining?</h4><br>Purists or enthusiasts who eyed the car with utmost love, but clenched their wallets before nodding in denial might have a way around it too. Turns out, Ford will be building 10 limited edition continuation models next year. While we cannot expect the same engine and rage in the upcoming car, we learnt that it will sport the 7.0-litre V8 in a 1967 Mustang. Close enough? You be the judge.</br></br></br></br>

Here's Why This Super Snake Is The Rarest Of All Mustangs Out There

<br/>We might have not come across SsangYong as an automaker with a well-established heritage in Motorsports, which could be the reason why it is entering one of the most gruelling rallies in the world. Yet again.<br/>The Dakar Rally, set in North America, which is set to be flagged off from January 6, next year will see the automaker for the second time through a run of 10 stages and 5000km which are mostly off-road, along with a further 3000km of special stages. In the previous year, Ssangyong competed along several other rookie teams to achieve an overall position of 32nd.<br/>In 2017, the North Korean automaker had chosen its Trivoli crossover to compete in the limit-testing competition. However, for the upcoming year, we learn that SsangYong has chosen one of its most popular model, Rexton.<br/>While Rexton has been crowned in the traditional SUV segment, the one that will race the rally does resemble even close to it. Set to compete in the T1-3 class for rear-wheel drive, petrol-powered vehicles, it's got a 450bhp mid-mounted V8 and a six-speed sequential gearbox. 0-100 takes 4.4 seconds, and the top speed is 196kph. And don't forget, it'll do those numbers on quite literally any surface.<br/>The rickety body as we see has been mounted on a tubular chassis which is made out of “chrome-molybdenum” (reassuringly exotic indeed).<br/>There is an all-new sequential-manual 6-speed Sadev SL90-23 gearbox, a tri-disc ceramic clutch that will take up to 1,500Nm of torque, and a Torsen self-locking differential unit with a high lock capacity under acceleration.<br/>Suspension duties on the Rexton are handled by double arm King shock absorbers and helical extension springs, with AP brakes providing good heat dissipation and resistance to fade.<br/>The car will be driven by Spanish driver Ã“scar Fuertes with Diego Vallejo as co-driver, the same team that competed successfully in last year's Dakar Rally in a rally car based on the SsangYong Tivoli.

SsangYong's Rexton-Inspired Rally Weapon Is One Mean Machine

<br/>If you happen to think that the Nissan Patrol is a just a tad mild despite its legendary capability, you might like what the White Spider has to offer.<br/>The Nissan Patrol is unquestionably one of the most favourite vehicles of the UAE. The SUV refuses to slow down when it comes to sales and popularity. Nissan has always kept the Patrol relevant with timely updates and refreshes while increasing its already formidable capacity to go off the beaten path without breaking a sweat.<br/>The SUV is so good at what it does, in fact, that I daresay it does not need too many changes to add any more capability. Apparently, Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan did not agree. He thought the Patrol could do with a few more upgrades. Thus was born the White Spider, an eight-wheeled monstrosity that looks more like an armoured personnel carrier than a Japanese SUV.<br/>For those in the dark, Sheikh Hamad, affectionately known as The Rainbow Sheikh (his collection of Mercedes-Benz cars in every imaginable colour earned him the moniker), owns the Patrol. Hailing from the Abu Dhabi Ruling Family, he is an ex-Colonel, a philanthropist, and a frequent consultant for Nissan/Renault in their off-road vehicle development projects. Little wonder then, that he commissioned a project for himself.<br/>The White Spider is based on a 2010 Nissan Patrol GR Y61. In stock guise, the 2010 SUV made 240hp and 400Nm from a 4.8-litre V8. Though that is enough to lug the stock car around, the engine would definitely feel breathless when saddled with an extra set of wheels. And you can be sure that those wheels aren't coasting.<br/>The Nissan Patrol now sits on four axles, all of them powered. If that does not sound cool enough, here's the setup's other name: eight-wheel-drive. Although there have been discussions on forums regarding how the modification looks half-baked, there really seems to be no point in dissing the job. Think about it, extending the front end over the axle will end up with the SUV looking worse than before. Extending the rear end will have the same effect, but with the additional pain of increased weight to drag around.<br/>Even if weight was saved by not adding bodywork, there is no getting around the two extra axles and four wheels, plus their suspension. Although I have not come across exact specifications of the White Spider, we can be sure the SUV now has a lot of more horses to play with.<br/>A new, substantial bumper now sits over the front axle, replete with fog lamps, recovery points, and winches. And might I say, those four horns add a mischievous, funky touch to the game. The rear gets extended metal fenders over the two protruding wheels. There are now two jerrycans attached to the spare tyre. This Patrol can now go the distance regardless of where you point it on the terrain.<br/>Finally, I would conclude saying if you see this monster truck bearing up on you from behind, you had better make way. And guess what, these toys have working mechanicals (albeit in plastic) that take the assembly experience to a whole new level!<br/>Here are six cool cars you can build with LEGO.<br/><br><h3>"James Bond" Aston Martin DB5</h3><br>Let's be honest about this one. The cabin of this LEGO 1964 Aston Martin DB5 is pulled too far back than that of the real deal. But you can't deny the cool gadgetry this car comes with, both in the real car and the toy. Pull back the rear bumper of the LEGO DB5 to eject the passenger seat. Pull back the gear shifter to deploy wing mounted machine guns (caution: ammo not included), or just gaze at the intricately detailed six-cylinder engine on proud display under a bonnet you can open.<br/>The brand is identical, the generations of Bond differ.<br/>Inside, there's a radar tracker you can conceal. A door compartment contains a tiny onboard telephone. You can also revolve the number plates of this Aston Martin, as well as deploy the bulletproof shield and tyre scythes. Or just marvel at the exquisitely finished bumpers on the car. You have more than 1,290 pieces to bring the DB5 together. But you won't want to play with it once you build it unless you're by yourself. What if the kids break it, no?<br/> <br><h3>Bugatti Chiron</h3><br>This toy's a shocker. Not least because this LEGO Bugatti Chiron is a 1:1 scale model, but it can also seat a driver and be driven around. Yes, the lifesize toy Bugatti Chiron contains a total of 2,304 tiny electric motors that together generate 5.3hp and an impressive 92Nm. It clocked 20kph as its peak speed tested around the Ehra Lessien racetrack in Germany, where the real Chiron was first tested.<br/>LEGO assembled the Chiron out of a million bricks. This is a fact: 1,000,000 bricks, which includes 4,000 Technic wheels. It took 13,000 man hours to build this car which weighs 1,500kg. "When I first saw the Lego Chiron, I was immediately impressed by the accuracy of the model and the minute attention to detail," said its test driver Andy Wallace, who has multiple wins of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Daytona under his belt. "Driving the LEGO Chiron was a great experience, which I thoroughly enjoyed. All those years ago I could never have imagined that one day I would actually drive a Lego car!"<br/>Sure the LEGO Chiron doesn't have even a fraction of the original hypercar's performance, but ask yourself this: Will you ever get to build your own Chiron, unless its made of LEGO? There is only one catch to the situation though. You can't actually buy the life-size LEGO Bugatti Chiron. But don't worry.<br/> <br><h3>Bugatti Chiron - Scaled</h3><br>Like I said, don't worry. LEGO also markets a scale model of the Bugatti Chiron which is also not as complex. Well, you still have to assemble 3,599 pieces, but that's part of the appeal of the toy brand. The LEGO Bugatti Chiron scale model features a working W16 engine that is connected to an eight-speed transmission which itself has moving cogs. Seeing those tiny pistons go through their stroke rhythmically is strangely satisfying don't you think?<br/> <br><h3>Porsche 911 GT3 RS</h3><br>The iconic Porsche 911 GT3 RS replica is the result of Porsche adding another franchise to its list: LEGO. The collaboration between these two brands has given birth to one of the most intricately detailed assembled scale models out there. The 1:8 LEGO 911 features orange bodywork, red suspension springs, brake calipers, and rims with low-profile tyres a la the life-size car. The gearbox is again functional, there are shift paddles behind the steering wheel along with a correctly designed dashboard, and the rear lid opens to show off a working signature flat-six engine. The German carmaker is celebrating the warm response to the program by releasing a buildable RSR race car with LEGO. The 1,580-piece set is the largest LEGO Technic set for the first half of 2019. There is no working gearbox inside this time, but the accuracy of the details along with the clever construction more than makes up for it.<br/>A quick search through the toymaker's website shows an older version of the RSR and the GT3 RS already on sale with a larger number of parts, which the company launched in 2016. Although more pieces might work out better for some people, I think the rear diffuser and air wing of the new RSR is quite a delicious detail. Also, LEGO has taken some pains to give the RSR scale model a great livery identical to the original race car's scheme.<br/> <br><h3>Special Mention: Volvo Concept ZEUX Loader</h3><br>Okay, so this is not an actual car. Volvo teamed up with LEGO to create this machine which is kind of the future of commercial vehicles. You can operate the boom and bucket simultaneously or independently. The loader features four-wheel-steering. It also rebuilds into another futuristic model: The Volvo Concept Hauler PEGAX. Combined with the classic Volvo black-and-yellow colour scheme, this toy appeals to adults as well as children.<br/>So there you have it. LEGO is a clever manufacturer. Its toys are not only great for kids, but also engaging and fun projects for adults. <br/>Among all the automobile manufacturers of the world, Nissan has been one of the quickest to adapt to the future, with mainstream electric cars dotting its lineup along with hybrids and PHEVs. Now the company plans to up its EV game and achieve a rather ambitious sales target of a million EVs per year by 2022.<br/>Nissan has been at the forefront of the electric car revolution for quite some time. With the Leaf being the bestselling electric car in history and the second generation 2018 Leaf looking aesthetically a much better design than the outgoing one, Nissan deserves to pat itself on the back for achieving sustained healthy sales throughout the EV's life cycle. Instead, the company is expanding operations in the electric department and wants to sell a million electrified vehicles (including all-electric and plug-in hybrids) a year by the year 2022.<br/>The rather ambitious goal is part of Nissan's new business plan, coined "M.O.V.E. To 2022", under which the Japanese automaker is going to launch eight new all-electric models through to 2022. There will be an electric Kei car specific to the Japanese market, as also a production model based on the IMx crossover concept, which was showcased at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show among the eight promised cars. The company is also preparing for a product offensive in China, with country-specific models developed in conjunction with Chinese firms.<br/>Infiniti, Nissan's premium and luxury automobiles arm, is also part of the company's ambitious electrification drive. Nissan had previously stated that all Infiniti models will get all-electric or hybrid powertrains as an option beginning 2021. The luxury automaker will add two EVs to its lineup in 2022, targeting half its global sales raked in by electric cars and hybrids by the year 2025.<br/>Alongside the electric cars, Nissan is also looking at underpinning more of its models by the e-Power hybrid powertrain, which uses a small petrol engine that acts as a generator, while the electric motor is the sole mode of propulsion. This powertrain is currently in use on the Nissan Note and Serena in Japan. Nissan also owns <strong><a href="https://carprices.ae/brands/mitsubishi/">Mitsubishi</a> </strong>now, so it will be interesting if it will bring in Mitsy's expertise in building PHEVs to weigh in on the development of its own plug-in models.<br/>Autonomous mobility, though not immediate, is eventually going to take over the automobile industry. Nissan aims to stay abreast of the trend and is looking to offer its ProPilot driver-assist system to twenty models in twenty different markets by 2022. Again, the chosen target is a million ProPilot-equipped vehicles sold a year by 2022. While the ProPilot is a pretty advanced system, it is a driving assist and not the replacement. Autonomous cars are still some time away, and Nissan also does not have a clear timeline for the launch of its own fully autonomous car.

<br/>At the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, GFG Style presented a new electric supercar with advanced systems capable of harnessing non-conventional energy like solar and wind power. <br/>Electric vehicles of all shapes, sizes, and purposes were prominent among the whole lot of automotive goodness on display at the 88th Geneva Motor Show. Among them was a futuristic car designed by an old name in the auto design industry. Italdesign founder Giorgietto Giugiaro together with his son Fabrizio has opened a new design house, called GFG Style. Through the firm, the duo has come up with a four-door electric car which looks gorgeous, to say the least. The unique feature of the concept is the front sliding canopy, which harks back to the Chevy Testudo which was penned by Giorgietto in 1963.<br/>The peculiar name of the car, Sibylla, refers to a mythological maiden who was a prophetess. Although the car that takes up the maiden's name is no prophet, it does have a slew of impressive technology on board that is quite unconventional in its operation. The GFG Sibylla employs cutting-edge tech developed by Chinese renewable energy company Envision which allows it to manage power efficiently and also contribute to the electric grid. While the car is still a concept, the systems Envision has developed for it clearly highlight the company's expertise when it comes to sustainable energy tech.<br/>"The car uses our Internet of Things technology so it is synchronised with the energy ecosystem," said Felix Zhang, Executive Director of Envision. "Our technology aims to run 100% of the car on energy sourced from renewables, such as wind and solar power." The Sibylla is powered by four electric motors which provide a combined output of 536 hp and can propel the car to 100 kph in 4.5 seconds flat. Top whack is rated at close to 200 kph, with one motor powering each wheel, making it an all-wheel-drive saloon. The Sibylla is longer than the current Mercedes-Benz E-Class and has a range of 450 km from its 100 kW-h battery pack.<br/>Zhang also says that many of the systems showcased on the Sibylla are already operating on production cars in China. With this tech, Envision aims to create a synchronised development of the increasingly interlinked industries of transport and renewable energy technology. The company's model of operation is also unique as it is creating technology with open platform development to garner input from external sources like companies that play in the same field. "We don't have to own the assets in this plan like Tesla," said Zhang. "It's about connecting and synchronising and innovations."<br/>Envision's technology is proudly on display throughout the cabin. There is a giant screen as wide as the dashboard, with another smaller screen on the center console for ancillary controls. There is an additional screen between the rear passenger seats, as well as two infotainment screens placed on the back of the front seat headrests. The GFG Sibylla heralds a new future for the automotive industry when it comes to alternative energy. Imagine a car that gathers its electricity from the ambient surroundings, and contributes to the electrical grid at the end of the day, and you are closer to realising what the Sibylla is all about. But you will have just barely scratched the surface, for the technology it brings to the table promises a whole lot more in terms of what can be achieved.

The Superb is based on the Volkswagen MQB platform, on which many other models are based on including the Volkswagen Golf GTI.<br/>The latest generation of Skoda Superb has an 8-inch infotainment screen which is based on Volkswagen's third generation of Matrix infotainment system. In terms of improvement, there is not much that has been updated except for the improvement in ride quality but the major point of concern is the infotainment system. The infotainment system is still carried from the previous generation which is the 6.8-inch TFT screen from the 2019 Honda HR-V. While it is not the best of the infotainment systems considering by today's standard. Honda has started introducing their latest generation of the infotainment system which quite frankly is one of the best ones in the 2021 Honda HR-V.<br/>The 2020 Honda HRV also gets the 2nd-row magic seat feature which is one of my favourites. It is available in pretty much all Honda SUVs.
