Porsche Vision 357 Speedster, being the first car to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2023, has kicked off the event in style. The open-top version of the Vision 357 Speedster concept was revealed by Porsche earlier this year in January.
The 357 concept car represents Porsche’s 75-year anniversary celebrations, serving as a tribute to the brand's first-ever car, the Porsche 356. The Vision 357 will be on display at the Festival of Speed for all four days till 16th July.
Details of the new Porsche Vision 357 Speedster Concept Car
Based on the 718 GT4 e-Performance, the Porsche Vision 357 Speedster is driven by the electric motors shared from the Porsche Mission R which produces over 986 horses and a 60kWh battery powers the motors.
The 357 Speedster is built on the chassis of Porsche 718 GT4 Clubsport but the sleek bodywork enveloping the car presents a fresh shape, particularly in this Speedster variant, reminiscent of the timeless sports cars from the 1960s. Its single roll hoop and tonneau cover instead of the front passenger seat contribute to the nostalgic aesthetic, evoking the spirit of classic automotive design.
This creation seamlessly blends the heritage of Porsche's 75-year history with a forward-thinking approach, embracing both the past and the future equally. The head and tail lights are cleverly integrated into the bodywork, the instrument cluster is a transparent display panel placed on its carbon-fibre dashboard. The car is finished in Marble Grey and Grivelo Grey Metallic colours and proudly showcases Porsche's distinctive '75' livery, radiating a sense of grandeur and celebration.
