Borgward Articles

Borgward is a German automotive brand with a history of innovation and success, followed by a period of dormancy before being revived in the 21st century. The company was established by Carl F.W. Borgward in Bremen, Germany, in 1929. During the post-World War II era, Borgward experienced significant growth and success, becoming one of the largest and most influential automakers in Germany.

Borgward's lineup included a wide range of vehicles, from compact cars to luxury models. The brand was known for its innovative engineering, producing several notable models like the Borgward Isabella, which became popular during the 1950s.

Despite initial success, Borgward faced financial difficulties in the early 1960s, leading to its bankruptcy and subsequent closure in 1961. After a long period of dormancy, the Borgward brand was revived in 2008 by Christian Borgward, the grandson of the company's founder. The company's headquarters were established in Stuttgart, Germany.

The revived Borgward company focused on producing SUVs and electric vehicles. Their first model, the Borgward BX7, was introduced in 2015 and showcased the brand's commitment to modern design and advanced technology.

The revived brand initially aimed to target the Chinese automotive market, where it hoped to regain recognition and success. Borgward established production facilities in China and began manufacturing vehicles for the local market.

Borgward was still in the process of reintroducing itself to the automotive industry, with plans for further expansion and new model introductions in both China and other international markets.
