The latest spy shots of the upcoming RS7 could be the closest we can get to the production model that will exit the production ramp by 2020 and will most likely be unveiled by next year.

Evident from the latest snaps, we can see that the test mule is sporting all the production parts that will most likely make it to the official model. Staring with the front, Audi seems to have ditched its slated grille from the regular A7, which is now replaced with a mesh grille made up of wide hexagons.

Reports suggest that the decision to go for the hexagon grille was a resultant of what Audi enthusiasts wanted in the upcoming model. Hence, the constituting small hexagons are similar in shape to the whole grille. Apart from that, the Germans are also providing with another triangular outboard grille that helps distinguish the RS7 from others in the line-up.

While we hoped for some more tweaks from the company, the rest of the car doesn’t step away from the factory model. Tiny tweaks on the car can be seen in the form of wider fenders, but the added width is subtle and hard to notice. We also noticed that the side-skirts have been slightly flared outwards.

At the rear, Audi has dropped the chopped-up A7 bumper. However, instead, it has a production unit which looks like have extended the paint section a bit lower. This, in turn, replaces the faux diffuser in the A7’s bumper. The company has retained the trademark dual oval exhaust tips that the RS line is known for.

Considering that the car is sporting production bodywork, we have an intuition that the company will soon reveal it to us. We could also expect the probable-2020 model to sport some sort of a turbocharged V8 under the hood delivering close to 605bhp power
