Volvo's upcoming fully electric EX30 compact SUV boasts a clean exterior design and a stylish interior that prioritizes sustainability. Volvo says, that their new entry-level Volvo EX30 is not just designed for safety and increased sustainability, but is also designed to provide convenience, relaxation, and enjoyment. The new EX30 will be available to buy in the UAE within the first quarter of 2024.
Interior details of the all-electric Volvo EX30
The new Volvo EX30 combines intuitive tech with the best of Scandinavian design and aims to provide a seamless and delightful driving experience. Its carefully crafted combinations of materials enhance the interior's unique graphic design. Embracing responsible design principles, the interior uses recycled and renewable materials like denim, flax, and wool, offering a wide array of expressive colours and textures. The EX30 also offers multiple smart storage ideas that deliver a big-car experience.
Infotainment System
The fully electric Volvo EX30 features a single 12.3-inch centre screen display removing complexity for more focused and enjoyable driving. The SUV also features a seamlessly integrated soundbar, inspired by a home audio design that covers the entire width of the dashboard making it the first of its kind in a car, that can be paired with the Harman Kardon high-end sound system.
The centre screen offers a 'calm' view for focused driving, especially at night. The EX30 also includes built-in Google features with hands-free assistance, Google Maps, and access to favourite apps on Google Play. It also supports wireless Apple CarPlay. With 5G connectivity and Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms from Qualcomm Technologies, the infotainment system ensures a highly responsive experience.
Interior Trims
You can choose from four distinct interior options available for the new Volvo EX30. Each trim embraces a sustainable approach to materials and offers its own unique expression. Material choices include denim waste products and recycled plastic derived from items like old window frames and roller shutters, renewable flax fibre supplied by Volvo Cars Tech Fund investment Bcomp, a responsibly sourced wool blend with 70 percent recycled polyester, and a structured knit seat material containing recycled plastic.
Additionally, the EX30 is also available with upholstery options in Nordico, a progressive and technologically advanced material made from textiles sourced from recyclables like PET bottles and bio-attributed material from forests in Sweden and Finland.
Smart Storage Spaces
For the EX30 electric SUV, Volvo has relocated multiple compartments in order to enhance accessibility and provide an array of smart storage spaces, window switches are placed at the centre console, making them easy to reach for both driver and passenger. The glove compartment is now placed beneath the centre screen, so the driver and passenger can now access it easily.
With a sliding system, the centre console's incredible versatility lets you decide how to use the available space. The cupholder's top can be moved back for additional storage or out to accommodate a latte or smartphone. For tiny items like sunglasses, there is a secure storage compartment in the lower tunnel, and a bag can fit in the spacious open area above.
Rear passengers can benefit from dedicated phone pockets in the front seatbacks and a sliding storage box beneath the centre console. Inside the tailgate, Volvo has provided a size guide that may come in handy when you are buying some flat-pack furniture and are unsure whether that new table will fit.
