The Chevrolet Tahoe RST was showcased at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show. The response that it got from the audience was overwhelming. This made people at Chevrolet to come to a decision of launching it in the Middle East market.
Ahmed Soudodi, Head of Brand at Chevrolet Middle East, said, “The Tahoe is one of the most loved large SUVs in the Middle East and the outstanding response the RST edition received at its regional unveiling during this year's Dubai International Motor Show cemented this fact.”
Chevrolet Tahoe RST is the 'Rally Sport Truck' edition of the standard Tahoe. This special edition of the SUV has been provided with many new features that would be appreciated by the public in the UAE.
To make it stand apart from the standard Tahoe, Chevrolet got rid of the chrome from the exterior and put gloss-black elements. This not only made it easier to differentiate between the two variants of the SUV but also made it look more sporty and aggressive. Then we've got the exclusive body-colour grille surround, gloss-black grille, mirror caps, roof rails, running board accent, window trim and RST badging. The Tahoe RST also comes with large 22-inch wheels.
Powering the RST is the gigantic 6.2-litre V8 which puts out 420 bhp. This is the same engine that has been put in charge in the Corvette Stingray. To make sure the exact amount of power is delivered to all the four wheels at the exact time when needed, the Tahoe RST comes with GM's all-new Hydra-Matic 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission. Also, to spice things up a bit, there's a Borla performance exhaust system which makes the growling of the SUV more prominent, and with an improvement of 28% in the exhaust flow, it adds a few extra ponies at disposal.
Chevrolet hasn't released any official price of the Tahoe RST yet. But since we're expecting to hit the showrooms sometime during March or April, we are certain that the price will be announced soon.
