A new Lamborghini is always guaranteed to send massive waves throughout the automotive industry. The new Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is no different, going head-to-head with fierce rivals from every corner of the globe backed by the strength of its naturally-aspirated V12 engine, exquisite materials, and an extreme aerodynamics package thanks to ALA.
In the words of the Italian automaker, the Aventador SVJ creates pure driving perfection, taking the concept of a super sports car to a new dimension. It is the result of the coming together of extraordinary design, groundbreaking technologies, and the ultimate in handling, performance, and driver enjoyment.
SV in the V12 machine's name stands for Superveloce (Superfast), and the Aventador also receives the 'Jota' suffix, reserved for the most special of the company's creation. What makes the SVJ special, then? One fact stands head and shoulders above the rest: The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ lapped the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 6:44.97 minutes, making it the fastest production car around the infamous German circuit.
The Aventador SVJ is limited to just 900 units. An even more special edition, the SVJ 63 was unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance this year. The SVJ 63 pays homage to the year 1963 when Lamborghini supercars commenced operations. It will be limited to a further 63 units in addition to the 900 of the SVJ.

The Aventador SVJ takes another step into the future, shaping the potential for super sports car development.”
What does the Aventador SVJ possess that makes it such a blistering performer both on the track and off it? For starters, there is the mid-mounted fire-breathing V12 that makes 770hp and 720Nm. one would argue that some cars make twice the power of the bull, but Lamborghini has silenced naysayers by revealing the car's kerb weight: 1,525kg. Thanks to its combination of high power and low weight, the SVJ rockets to the ton from a standstill in a mere 2.8 seconds, and clocks 200kph in 8.6 seconds. A top speed of 350kph is complemented by excellent braking, with the car stopping from a 100kph to standstill in 30 meters.
An innocent bystander will notice that the Aventador SVJ looks significantly meaner than its garden-variety (if we can say that) sibling. The differences present themselves mostly through altered bodywork. To the loyal Lamborghini aficionado, the altered bodywork is the result of ALA having had a go at the stock Aventador. ALA stands for Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva, the Italian automaker's aerodynamics division. ALA first tuned the Huracan Performante, really bringing out the car's potential.
The Aventador SVJ gains 40 per cent more downforce and one per cent decreased drag coefficient thanks to the revised bodywork. A new front bumper decked out with side fins features a new intake. The disconnected front splitter appears like a floating component. A tri-dimensional air outlet on the hood directs airflow. Side intakes are bigger, and the underbody aero design features vortex generators in conjunction with front diffusers and a new extreme rear diffuser. Last but not the least, the massive rear wing of the Aventador SVJ is based on an optimised ALA 2.0 system, along with side winglets to reduce turbulence while providing high downforce both down straights and around high-speed corners.
Finally, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is bestowed with generous amounts of carbon-fibre, from the new bonnet to the wing and different aero appendages, to the interiors. RIms are made from super light 'Nireo' aluminium, with optional 'Leirion' rims available.
