A test mule of the Jaguar I-Pace has been spotted in the UK near Millbrook test facility. It was in a heavily disguised state. A few pictures are available while the car was parked in a charging station.
It was about a year ago when the Jaguar I-Pace was spotted testing for the first time. Since then there wasn't any news about the vehicle. Now, it is being said that the car is almost production ready and would make an appearance at the Geneva Motor Show.
You can see in the pictures that the test mule is entirely covered in black and red camouflage and doesn't reveal many details. We can see common Jaguar-type tail lamps and a nice rear spoiler mounted on the roof. The rear bumper looks sporty and so does the sloping roofline at the rear end of the car. This gives the I-Pace a coupe-kind of appearance. We can also see that the charging socket is located above the front-left wheel.
Jaguar I-Pace is said to be a complete package of 'a no-compromise smart, five-seat sports car and a performance SUV in one'. We are expecting it to provide all the new features that a modern electric vehicle should come with.
If we talk about its motor, the Jaguar I-Pace is expected to come with two motors, one mounted on each axle. These motors come with a 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack that was developed in-house by Jaguar. These batteries support rapid charging technology and would take around 2 hours to fully charge from a normal 50KW public charging station. The combined power output from both the engines is around 394bhp and together they churn out around 700Nm of peak torque. The range of the I-Pace is expected to be of around 500km.
