SPIED! Ferrari Purosangue Test Mule Spotted With Long Wheel Base And High Ground Clearance

Earlier this month, Ferrari turned the tables by announcing its entry into the SUV segment by the year 2025. This news comes a few months after the Lamborghini unveiled its first SUV, Urus.
A few weeks after Ferrari's announcement, a test mule of the Purosangue was spotted. At first glance of the shiny test mule, we couldn't help but notice the resemblance to the body of a GTC4Lusso with a sprinkle of SUV.
The video which was uploaded by SupercarsNews on YouTube was rather dramatic with the car swiftly coming into the frame, growling. However, the driver slams the brakes and hastily backs the car, soon after spotting the camera.
We do not expect the SUV to look the same when it hits the showroom. However, this might be a hint that the company is diving nose first into the segment. The video quality lets us observe nothing more than the high ground clearance and long wheelbase (definitely not Ferrari's style).
Ferrari has carefully planned out its future launches to keep in pace with the changing market trends. This has, however, left the automakers' owners and enthusiasts in flux with some not completely accepting such changes.
Top executives at Ferrari believes that the first offering into the SUV segment will be the fastest among its rivals which currently consists of Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus ad the upcoming Rolls Royce Cullinan.
This plan falls in line with what Ferrari's ex-CEO Sergio Marchionne had planned for the company. He also had promised a new SUV, as the company aimed at expanding its lineup, by 2020. However, current CEO of Ferrari Louis Carey Camilleri has pushed the project by two years to 2022.
Ahead of his death in July, Marchionne had said that the Italian stallion would not be creating an SUV that would share a similar mould with the ones that are sold in the market and that 'you have to shoot me first if it did.
