BMW is amid preparation for a mid-cycle refresh for the 7-series. Currently, the 7-series stands as one of the most technologically advanced cars in BMW's line-up.
As BMW is putting the final touches on the updated iteration, reports suggest that the folks at Alpina will ready their own version by the time the former hits the showroom.
Alpina has been BMW's semi-official tuner that has been making its creation go faster for over five decades now. Christened as the B7, Alpina's version of the 7-series is one of the most desirable luxury sedans in the business.
Recent spy shots of the updated version of the B7 will resemble greatly with BMW's offering in the respective series. A few of what we could notice included an enlarged grille and widened taillights.
We could confirm that the spotted model was an Alpina creation due to its signature front splitter design and multi-spoke wheels. Additionally, the quad-exhaust tips with a round design.
We are not yet clear about what's happening under the hood. However, reports suggest that Alpina will be sticking with the current B6's 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. We hope that there would a significant change in the output figures, more than the current model's 600bhp and 799Nm.
With a few options, the current 7-series adds up to be a six-figure car. Despite the features, one cannot argue on the predictable styling and drab interiors. To an average onlooker, the 7-series is hard to distinguish from the 5-series. Hence the update was needed and expected.
BMW has put up some major changes in the cosmetics of the car. Spy shots of the updated model show us a new face for the car with new head and taillights, a new hood, and a new, much bigger grille.
