Škoda Middle East, on Thursday, announced the arrival of its new Škoda Scala and Škoda Kamiq models in the region. The brand marks this as another milestone in its ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, versatile vehicles that cater to the unique demands of drivers in the region.

These new models, equipped with advanced technology and enhanced safety features, are designed for both urban and long-distance driving, offering a sleek design, efficient performance, and innovative features. With the launch of the new Škoda Scala and Škoda Kamiq, the brand hopes to solidify its position in the Middle Eastern market

Škoda Kamiq is a versatile crossover SUV that now boasts a more confident, rugged appearance. It is designed to appeal to drivers who need a car capable of handling both city streets and highways with ease. The new Kamiq brings together a compact size, excellent fuel efficiency, and enhanced connectivity.

Meanwhile, Škoda Scala, a sporty hatchback inspired by the Vision RS concept, has been refreshed with a revised grille and bumper. Despite its compact size, Scala offers a spacious interior, blending comfort with practicality. Designed for city driving, the Scala provides a modern, stylish, and compact alternative for drivers who value both aesthetics and functionality.

Lukas Honzak, Managing Director of Škoda Middle East, expressed excitement about the launch and stated that the introduction of the new Scala and Kamiq reflects the company’s commitment to offering vehicles that perfectly balance performance, practicality, and modern features. He said, “These models are designed with the region’s drivers' needs in mind, combining cutting-edge technology with refined design to deliver a seamless driving experience, whether navigating city streets or covering longer distances.”

Both Scala and Kamiq are equipped with a range of advanced features. In a bid to offer greater convenience, both the models feature an optional electric boot with a virtual pedal, allowing drivers to access the boot hands-free by simply waving a foot under the rear bumper.

The Kamiq also offers a panoramic sunroof. Inside, the car is fitted with an 8.25-inch Škoda Infotainment System and an 8-inch Digital Display as standard – with optional upgrades available, including a 9.2-inch Škoda Navigation System and a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit. Phone pockets have been added to the back of the front seats for additional mobile storage, while there are up to five USB-C ports in both models.

Both Škoda Scala and Škoda Kamiq are powered by a 1.0 TSI engine that delivers 114 horsepower (85kW), ensuring a fine balance between efficiency and performance. With a fuel efficiency rating of 5.5 liters per 100 kilometers, both models offer an optimal balance between performance and economy, helping drivers reduce fuel costs while enjoying smooth and responsive driving experiences.

Both models are available in nine different paint finishes. Customers can also choose from a range of alloy wheels, with sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches. Two new alloy wheel designs have also been introduced for the 18-inch variant, adding an extra layer of customization for those who want to make their vehicle truly unique.

Both the Scala and Kamiq come equipped with a range of advanced safety features. These include optional assistance systems typically found in higher-end vehicles, such as Predictive Cruise Control, Front Assist with Pedestrian Monitor, and Lane Assist.

These models come with standard LED headlights and taillights, which can be upgraded to the TOP LED Matrix headlights. Both models also come standard with Easy Light Assist, which automatically adjusts the low beam for optimal visibility based on the surrounding conditions. Other safety features include Cruise Control with a Speed Limiter and Tyre Pressure Monitoring, ensuring that drivers remain safe and in control, regardless of the driving environment.

The starting price for the Škoda Scala is $21,967 (approximately AED 80,500 as of today) while the Škoda Kamiq starts at $22,312 (approximately AED 82,000). Both models will be available in showrooms this month (October).

Škoda Auto currently offers a diverse lineup of twelve passenger-car models: Fabia, Scala, Octavia, Superb, Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq, Elroq, Enyaq, Enyaq Coupé, Slavia, and Kushaq. In 2023, the company delivered over 866,000 vehicles to customers worldwide.

A member of the Volkswagen Group for the past 30 years, Škoda Auto benefits from being part of one of the world's most successful automotive manufacturers. The company employs around 40,000 people globally and operates in approximately 100 markets.
