Rolls-Royce Motor Cars showcased their latest car, the Spectre at Goodwood Festival of Speed as the world's first-ever ultra-luxury electric vehicle. Rolls-Royce, already famous for its luxurious cars with quiet cabins, refined engines and effortless driving, has now taken those attributes to the next level by putting an electric motor instead of an internal combustion engine in the Spectre.
Highlights of the Rolls-Royce Spectre EV
In terms of styling, the Spectre EV carries forward the Rolls-Royce DNA along with new design elements its Sportback design is influenced by the clarity and precision of line and the intelligent use of reflection in modern racing yacht styling. It is also the most aerodynamic Rolls-Royce to date with a drag coefficient of just 0.25cd.
The Spectre EV features a Pantheon front grille. the widest and sleekest grille ever in a Rolls-Royce. It features the signature Rolls-Royce split headlights and the Spirit of Ecstasy on Spectre is specially made for the EV. At the back, the tail lamps are integrated into the largest single body panel ever made for a Rolls-Royce, extending from the A-pillar to the luggage compartment. It is the first production Rolls-Royce two-door coupé to be fitted with 23-inch wheels in almost 100 years.
Inside, the Spectre features Starlight Doors which incorporate 4,796 softly illuminated ‘stars’. Spectre's Illuminated Fascia has a celestial theme and showcases the Spectre nameplate surrounded by 5,500 stars, located on the passenger side of the dashboard.
Technical Details of the Rolls-Royce Spectre
The Spectre, being an EV, is driven by two electric motors the front electric motor produces 365Nm, while the rear motor delivers 710Nm of torque. The combined power output of the motors is equal to an internal combustion engine producing 584 horses with 900Nm of torque. The Spectre accelerates from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds.
Both the electric motors are juiced by a 102kWh lithium-ion battery, produced using 100 percent green electricity. It gets a WLTP confirmed range of 530km. The battery can be charged from 0-80 percent in 34 minutes using a 195kW DC fast charger and produces sufficient charge for 100km in around nine minutes.
Price of the Rolls-Royce Spectre
The Marque has priced the Spectre at $422,750. That means if you want to buy it in UAE, The Rolls-Royce Spectre will cost around AED 1,785,670 including taxes.
