Range-Topping 2020 Bentley Bentayga Speed On Its Way!
With the new Bentayga Speed, Bentley aims to deliver the ultimate balance of performance and luxury in an SUV. The firm will use its in-house 6.0-litre W12 engine and boost it to produce as much as 650hp from the stock 600-hp output.

If the above specifications do make their way to the car, the 2020 Bentley Bentayga Speed will crack the ton under four seconds and top out at a theoretical 305kph. The performance will not just be courtesy of the more powerful engine. Bentley will also tweak the gearbox, chassis, and suspension of the Bentayga so the porky SUV can post supercar-rivalling numbers on the clocks.
The arch-rival of the British luxury missile would be the Lamborghini Urus with which it shares its underpinnings. The Urus makes 640hp and crosses the 100kph mark in 3.6 seconds, topping out at 305kph.
Bentley is not focussing on straight-line performance with the Bentayga Speed. The firm will impart the SUV more of a performance character without cutting down on comfort. Weight reduction is not on the menu: expect a kerb weight nearly identical to the existing Bentayga’s 2.44 tonnes.
Bentley’s plans for the Bentayga Speed do not call for an out-and-out performance SUV. The company is targeting to make the go-fast SUV the pinnacle of the Bentayga range in every sense. This means that bespoke interior trim and upholstery would still be offered. The exterior will feature subtle design upgrades similar to the Continental GT Speed.
The 2020 Bentley Bentayga Speed could cost a substantial chunk of money more than its lesser siblings, just like other Bentley cars with the ‘Speed’ moniker. The Bentley Bentayga follows the plug-in hybrid variant with the same nameplate. Bentley will start deliveries of the PHEV Bentayga this October, so it’s safe to say the 2020 Bentley Bentayga Speed will go on sale shortly after.
