Lexus, at the Paris Motor Show, revealed the prices and specifications of its new UX 250h crossover SUV. The car will be sold in three trims and one engine variant.
Underpinning the UX is Toyota's GA-C global architecture marking its first ever use by Lexus. Apart from that, the company also debuted two new powertrains for the model. The first will be offered in the UC 250h which include a 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid engine producing a total of 176bhp. A CVT auto gearbox is mated with the engine throughout the line-up. However, there will be an optional front- or four-wheel-drive.
The three trims available in the new crossover include the standard, F-Sport and the Takumi cars variant. The company is offering 17-inch alloy wheels as standard across all models. However, an upgrade to the F-Sport will give one a set of 18-inch wheels along with other accessories such as a rear privacy glass, electrically operated and heated front seats along with a heated steering wheel.
A host of kits are available for the new UX. Premium Plus pack comes with added leather seats, keyless entry and a power tailgate. However, opting for this pack on the F-Sport can get you a 10-inch infotainment system along with a power adjustable steering wheel. Apart from that, other packs on the new SUV includes the Tech and Safety Pack as well as Tech and Sound Pack.
The range-topping Takumi car which is placed at a premium of $7767 over the standard variant, sports premium features such as front seat ventilation, a 13-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system, a 360-degree camera and a heads-up display.
"Right from the start I focused on the target market; mid-30s, millennials. We tried to understand how they would expect a premium compact vehicle to change their lives and enable new experiences. That's what led us to the basic vehicle concept for the UX." said UX chief engineer Chika Kako.
The standard variant of the crossover starts at $29,900. The F-Sports costs $43,888, while the range-topping Takumi cars will be priced at $50,621.
