It is by now a tradition that soon after Mercedes-Benz reveals a new car, their in-house tuning division AMG follows up with insane derivatives of the same. But again as is tradition, Mercedes showcases an AMG Line of the said car before the evil minds at AMG have a go at it.
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class was unveiled at NAIAS Detroit 2018. Mercedes has recently revealed the G-Class AMG Line. To start with, you can choose from two unique 20-inch wheel designs. There are also bigger wheel arches to take in the big wheels while keeping the design proportionate. The body has subtle brushed aluminium touches all around, with the theme continuing on the inside. The dashboard and the steering wheel get dual aluminium and black leather upholstery, with red accenting from AMG found on the steering wheel, seatbelts and floor mats. The steering wheel is crafted out of Nappa leather.
The AMG Line G-Class is powered by the same biturbo V8 that puts down 422 hp and 610 Nm. There is a sports exhaust to liven up things inside the cabin. It amplifies the soundtrack of the exhaust, besides looking good on the G-Class. For those who want a bit more push from their G-Wagen, Mercedes-Benz should debut the G63 AMG by summer. A V12 G65 AMG is off the cards, however, as Mercedes has stated that the V12 will only power Maybach offerings.
