Toyota Avalon is one of the favourite cars in the UAE market. And there might be some good news for the local Avalon fans, as Toyota has unveiled the all-new 2019 Avalon at the 2018 North America International Auto Show in Detroit. The new Avalon is based on Toyota's New Global Architecture platform. Toyota has incorporated many new features to make sure that the next generation Avalon is all-new, up-market and premium than the outgoing model.
I'm not going to tell you how aesthetically good or bad the new Avalon is because looks are subjective. And you can judge that yourself by having a look at the pictures here. But on a personal opinion, I find the car to be very modern and flamboyant. I really like the design and colour of the front grille and the attention to detail here - the chrome border surrounding the grille is brilliantly done. So we're talking about all modern features here - LED headlights and tail lights, an option of different sized wheels, dual exhausts, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, etc..
The cabin of the new Toyota Avalon is remarkable as well. It's quite luxurious. It's got a three-spoke steering wheel with a hint of chrome used on it, a large 9-inch multimedia system with controls like audio, navigation, climate control, etc.. It's being said that for the first time, Toyota has now made possible for Avalon users to get a two-tone leather-surface, but when outfitted in Cognac or Gray.
The new 2019 Toyota Avalon will have two engine options - a) 3.5-litre V6 and b) 2.5-litre 4-cylinder Toyota Hybrid System II with a 650-volt electric motor. There also a new 8-Speed Direct Shift-8AT automatic gearbox. As of now, Toyota has not released the power and torque figures of any of the engines. We'll keep you guys updated on that once we get them.
Toyota has also not told anything about the launch dates or the price of the car. It's an all-new car with all the necessary features that it had missing. It would be a demanded product here in the UAE. So, is the all-new, 5ht generation Toyota Avalon coming to the UAE? Well, we don't know that yet. Toyota hasn't given any confirmation on that. Stay tuned for more.
