Formula 1 racing is one of the most expensive sports in the world. It is the highest level of motorsport racing and there's no room for mistakes. Every tenth of a second matter and race drivers and their teams have to give their best to win races. With the new technological developments and advancements over the years, Formula 1 racing has changed drastically. These latest technologies not only made the cars faster but also the sport much safer than before. While many things have changed, the logo of the sport has been the same for the last 23 years. It was time to replace it with a new one and that's what Liberty Media did.
Liberty Media is the new owner of the Formula 1 and it will start making changes to the sport. The first change that it has done is introduced a new logo. It was revealed at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi after the race was finished. Talking about the race, it was Valtteri Bottas who beat Lewis Hamilton to secure the first position. Anyway, according to Liberty Media, the new logo has been designed to be simpler and more adaptive to modern digital platforms.

Ellie Norman, Marketing Head, F1, says, “The logo is based on two cars going around a circuit and battling to cross the finish line. The logo takes inspiration from the low profile shape of a car, and has been created to offer much more flexibility and versatility over the current version.”
FIA also supports the decision of Liberty Media of introducing the new logo. Sean Bratches, F1 commercial chief, says, “We hold in high regard the incumbent mark. It served F1 extremely well over the past 23 years, but in terms of where we are taking the business and our vision for the business, it is the negative space in the '1' doesn't come through candidly in digital."
The next season of Formula 1 is scheduled to begin from 25 March 2018, with its first race at Australia. We're quite sure and expecting Liberty Media to implement more changes in the sport. Let's see what these would be, till then, what are your thoughts about the new F1 logo?
