The Al Damani DMV 300 is the first electric vehicle to be manufactured entirely in the United Arab Emirates. Production is set to start at the end of June 2022.
Al Damani DMV300 fully electric car which has a battery capacity of 52.7 kWh, a top speed of 160 km/h, and can cover more than 405km on a single charge.
The organisation behind the vehicle is the M Glory Holding Group, led by Dr Majida Alazizi. An Emirati with a doctorate degree in supply chain management, she is the first Arab woman to establish a car factory in the Middle East.
Last October, the Group started setting up a temporary factory at Dubai Industrial City, which will start producing the EVs by the end of this month. This factory has a capacity of about 8 to 10 cars per day and 10,000 cars annually.
A new, permanent facility is being built on a total land area of 1 million sq ft. It will employ 1,000 staff, and open in 2024. The facility will also include robotics engineering, artificial intelligence, and sustainable real estate. The new factory will drive up production to between 50,000 and 70,000 cars per year.
About a quarter of Al Damani’s parts will be sourced locally. The company is also developing its own home charger, which should allow drivers to charge their EVs from empty to full in just four hours.
