Continental, a leading tyre and automotive technology company, hosted a media roundtable to highlight the importance of the Middle East for its global expansion and ongoing projects with regional public and private partners. The event was directed by Karel Kucera, Managing Director of Continental Middle East, and Ferdinand Hoyos, Head of Replacement Tyre Business for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Continental.Hoyos highlighted Continental Group's broad portfolio at the roundtable, which includes cutting-edge technologies and safe transportation options. The conversation also included the company's global goals for 2023, including the introduction of new products and the maintenance of its relationship as the Official Tyre Partner of the Asian Football Federation.
The discussion focused heavily on Continental's dedication to its Global Vision Zero effort, which aims to end road fatalities, carbon emissions, and accidents. Hoyos emphasised the company's initiatives towards achieving this objective and its commitment to creating ground-breaking products that enhance traffic safety, such as specific product lines for the Middle East under the Continental and General Tire brands. Customers in the UAE have also benefited from the launch of BestDrive, a complete tyre fitment solution, with top-notch service and affordability.By 2040, Continental intends to promote sustainable mobility and have all of its products be carbon neutral. The company is assisting the switch to EVs in the Middle East by creating cutting-edge tyre technologies, such as a "high load tyre" that can carry 25 per cent more load capacity and cut noise levels by up to nine decibels. Continental is well-positioned to benefit from the expansion of the industry as a supplier to nine of the top 10 EV manufacturers globally.
With 151 years of expertise, Continental is still a leader and is always engaged in working on futuristic projects. In addition, the business is increasing its position as a significant producer of "head-up display" units and sensors such as wheel speed and acceleration sensors for crash detection.
