The Malibu is Chevrolet's award-winning mid-size sedan in the Middle East. So for 2018 Chevrolet has launched a sport variant to keep things spicy. The catch here is that this sport variant is not a new vehicle but an upgrade package available as an accessory.
The new Malibu Sport Accessory Package is available with the 2.0T engine variant of both the Malibu LT and Malibu LTZ trims. The objective of this package is to provide customers to have an option of converting their mid-size family sedan into a much sportier-looking one. This package is feasible with the 2018 Malibu models as well as 2017 models.
Speaking about the new package, Ahmed Soudodi, Head of Brand at Chevrolet Middle East said, “For 2018, we have added a new Malibu Sport Accessory Package to the lineup for buyers who look for a more distinct and expressive styling in their family sedan. This is part of our
commitment to deliver the best in design and technology trends in the segment. The 2018 Malibu is the most advanced vehicle to wear the nameplate yet, and the addition of the Sport model further boosts its appeal as it's designed to set its driver apart.”
He further added, “With its recognized engaging driving dynamics, efficiency, technology features and expressive styling, the Malibu has already garnered acclaim from our customers as well as industry experts in the region, and we are confident the Sport variant will further enhance its desirability.”
The new package comes with a host of design enhancements like black Chevy bow-ties, a 'Sport' badge, black wing mirrors and a Dark chrome grille to differentiate itself from the rest of the lineup, the aggressive look is rounded off with an aerodynamically-honed blacked out new
body kit, a rear spoiler as well as exclusive 5-Split Spoke Black wheels.
Chevrolet claims that the Malibu is one of the most advanced cars in its class. It comes loaded with high-end safety and connectivity features. Chevrolet's award-winning MyLink system has an 8-inch touch screen which supports Apple CarPlay, hands-free calling, messaging, music streaming and more. The Malibu comes with Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert to keep its occupants protected at all times. Customers will also enjoy best in class cost of maintenance and exceptional after sales service through Chevrolet Complete Care.
Under the hood of the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu is a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine which produces 250 hp of max power and 353 Nm of peak torque. It is capable to pull the car from 0 to 100 kph in under 7 seconds.
