Automobili Pininfarina has introduced the new B95 Electric Hyper Barchetta at the Monterey Car Week in California. The world's first pure-electric open-top hyper Barchetta is a design and tech marvel. Its sleek open-top bodywork contrasts with exquisite details, offering a modern race car look driven by electric power.

The B95 Electric Hyper Barchetta is based on the PURA design philosophy from the new PURA Vision design concept, which embodies an elegant silhouette and striking dimensions. The Barchetta harmonizes design elements from legendary vintage race cars with futuristic design, all while remaining true to the PURA philosophy. The B95 is hand-crafted and is limited to 10 units only.

The B95 was showcased alongside the Battista Edizione Nino Farina hyper GT, unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, along with the newly introduced PURA Vision design concept that unlocks a new design philosophy for all future models from the brand.

Technical Specs of the Automobili Pininfarina B95 Electric Hyper Barchetta

The B95 shares the same powertrain as the Battista hyper GT, but with a unique power tune. The Barchetta produces 1,877 horsepower and 2,340Nm of torque, It accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in less than 2 seconds and has a top speed of more than 300kmph. 

The car runs on a high-capacity 120kWh lithium-ion battery. The T-shaped battery pack comes with liquid cooling and is protected by a strong and lightweight carbon-fibre housing. It can be charged from 20 to 80 per cent within 25 minutes using DC fast chargers up to 270kW capacity.

The power is delivered to the four wheels via four independent high-performance electric motors, while the five drive modes utilize Full Torque Vectoring for customizable power delivery and handling. Modes include Calma, Pura, Energica, Furiosa, and Carattere, selected via a tactile rotary selector near the steering wheel.

Details of the Pininfarina B95 Hyper Barchetta

The Hyper Barchetta is designed by the Automobili Pininfarina Design team and hand-made in Cambiano by the team of Pininfarina SpA artisans. The B95 has a stunning stance, the car boasts its full-width enveloping bodywork that seamlessly extends into the front fenders while the elevated swage lines make the car look muscular. Inside the cabin, this design fosters both a sense of security and comfort, establishing a connection between occupants and their environment.

Built on the full-carbon fibre monocoque the hypercar comes with carbon fibre body panels Aluminium crash structure front and rear. In terms of dimensions, it is 4,912mm long, 1,214mm high and 2,035mm wide. It comes fitted with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged aluminium wheels, finished in Matt Black.

The Barchetta's elegant shape emphasises its spacious footprint and allows for easy access to the lavish cabin. Bold wheel arches emphasize the vehicle's shape and power, enabling precise control of reflections for added design depth and quality. Absence of a traditional vehicle glasshouse has led the Automobili Pininfarina design team to delineate the cabin space using an encircling loop that integrates the seats, adaptable aero screens, and individual passenger domes.

The B95 features the world’s first electronically adjustable aero screens that deflect the wind and enhance the driving experience. The owners can also order bespoke helmets as an additional accessory, the helmets will be made to match their chosen B95.

Details of B95 at the Monterey Car Week

The B95 which was showcased at the Monterey Car Week gets a metallic Bronzo Superga finish which contrasts sharply with the distinctive gloss section of the Giallo Arneis at the front and atop the driver's dome, which gets a Black Gloss '95' lettering. The multi-layered gloss finish enhances the B95's elegant silhouette, using gold metallic flakes for depth. It appears gold in the day and bronze at night, offering two colours depending on time.

Black Exposed Signature Carbon adds a striking 3D effect, contrasting with the body paint. It also gets a carbon fibre splitter at the front and an aero outlet at the back.

The interior of B95 blends a classic race car theme with a modern design. The hypercar comes with a concept car-inspired cabin and carbon-fibre dashboard, upholstered in Tan Sustainable Luxury Leather with bespoke embossing. From the driver's seat, the broad dashboard seamlessly integrates with the exterior, continuing the unique lines of the hood into the cabin, mirroring the design of the PURA Vision concept. 

The classic racecar-inspired seats get a Tan Sustainable Luxury Leather finish. The headrests feature Pininfarina logos created through electro-welding and are upholstered in a luxurious Pied de Poule Houndstooth textile. Contrast stitching in black and tan extends across the seats, door interiors, and dashboard.

Delivery and Availability of the Automobili Pininfarina B95

Manufacturing and deliveries of the limited-run masterpiece will commence in 2025, aligning with the Pininfarina SpA 95th anniversary, the 'B' in its name stands for Barchetta, resulting in the name Automobili Pininfarina B95. Out of the 10 examples, each car will be made uniquely according to buyers' preferences to ensure complete exclusivity as no two cars would be alike.
