Audi Middle East is excited to announce the arrival of the Audi urbansphere concept to the region for the first time. This groundbreaking vehicle will be on display at the prestigious Museum of the Future in the UAE starting on September 30th. The urbansphere is the third and largest of four concept vehicles in the sphere series, joining the sky sphere, grandsphere, and active sphere. These concepts aim to redefine urban travel with innovative design and technology.
Audi Urbansphere: The Future of Urban Mobility
The partnership between Audi Middle East and the Museum of the Future holds great significance. It allows Audi to showcase its bold vision for the automotive industry's future and its commitment to sustainable mobility. For visitors to the Museum of the Future, this collaboration offers a unique opportunity to explore the world of automotive innovation and get a glimpse of the cutting-edge designs and capabilities shaping the future of transportation.
The Audi urbansphere concept sets new standards for urban mobility. It's built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) technology platform, featuring an electric drive system that promises impressive range and power output. With a battery module holding around 120 kilowatt-hours of energy between the axles, fast charging at up to 270 kilowatts is possible. The 800-volt high-voltage system ensures quick charging times, allowing the urbansphere to be ready for action in under 25 minutes.
Inside the Audi urbansphere, passengers are welcomed into a luxurious and customizable interior. The absence of a traditional steering wheel and dashboard creates a spacious atmosphere, providing a relaxing journey. Passengers can choose to hide or display the steering wheel, pedals, and dashboard, and the lounge-chair-inspired design with light-coloured, pillow-like upholstery elements promotes tranquillity. Advanced control interfaces and connectivity options enable passengers to work, communicate, or unwind during their journey.
The urbansphere offers endless possibilities through Audi's extensive range of options and seamless integration of digital services. Travelers can access a variety of services related to their journey, from making dinner reservations to online shopping. The autonomous urbansphere concept takes convenience to the next level, offering door-to-door service, autonomously identifying parking spaces, and managing battery charging independently. Exclusive corporate privileges are also extended to customers, including access to premium experiences tailored to individual preferences.
On the exterior, the Audi urbansphere concept features a sleek and aerodynamic design. Its dimensions, 5.51 meters (18 feet) long, 2.01 meters (6.6 feet) wide, and 1.78 meters (5.8 feet) high, make it one of the largest vehicles in Audi's concept car lineup. The distinctive inverted hexagonal Singleframe grille serves as a signature of the brand, exuding elegance and innovation. The front and rear lighting elements are digital display surfaces with hundreds of triangular pixel segments, allowing for versatile graphics and animations.
Sustainable design principles are also incorporated into the Audi urbansphere concept. Many interior materials, like hornbeam veneers, come from sustainable sources. The seat padding is made of ECONYL, a recycled polyamide, and bamboo viscose fabric is used in the armrests and rear of the vehicle. These sustainable choices reflect Audi's commitment to reducing its environmental impact and promoting eco-friendly solutions.
Visitors to the Museum of the Future can experience Audi's bold vision for the future of mobility, witnessing the seamless integration of advanced technology, sustainability, and supreme comfort. The Audi urbansphere concept will be on display at the museum as part of the 'Tomorrow, Today' exhibition until mid-January 2024.
