The Audi R8 Performance Edition complete with a full package of Audi Sport performance parts takes the already superb handling the German supercar is known for to new levels. It promises an extraordinary driving experience together with amazing race-car looks.
Only three of the exclusive R8 Performance Edition models will be available at Audi Abu Dhabi. “We are thrilled to be offering these special R8 performance editions,” says Mark Austin, General Manager at Audi Abu Dhabi. “Audi has huge experience over many years of building world class sports cars for road and track. They have used their motor racing expertise from Le Mans prototypes to the R8 LMS race series and put this knowledge into every component in the R8 Performance Edition. We are pleased to be offering these cars to our customers as part of our commitment to delivering the very best products and services in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.”
The three exclusive editions get a sports exhaust system, competition specification ceramic brake discs with rare-spec brake pads in titanium brake calipers. The cars also get three-way coilover track suspension and fully milled 20-inch alloys in black taken straight from motor racing. These wheels shave off 8kg from the car's weight.
The Audi R8 Performance Edition also comes with a special Aero kit developed in the Audi wind tunnel. The kit features a new deeper front spoiler, side sills, rear diffuser and a new, higher fixed rear wing, a front splitter along with clear-cut highlights on the front air inlets. The Aero package doubles the downforce at 150kph to 52kg.
All parts are made out of top-notch high-gloss carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) and feature the Audi Sport logo. Inside, a sport contour multifunction steering wheel featuring Alcantara-trimmed rim with a red 12 o'clock marking shows off the racing pedigree of this car. CFRP shift paddles are also available for R8 models specified with the seven-speed S-Tronic transmission.
UAE gets the Audi R8 V10 with an engine lifted straight off the Lamborghini Huracan. That means you get 530hp/540Nm, or if you choose the V10 Plus, 600hp and 560Nm at your disposal generated from a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10. The V10 Plus can crack the ton in 3.3 seconds. With the Performance package, expect the Audi R8 Performance Edition to possess an even faster turn of acceleration.
