MG Motor Middle East had introduced the excellent MG6 sedan for the region a couple of months earlier. Consolidating its position in our market, the company showcased the MG6 at the recently held Saudi International Motor Show.
Making a bold statement at the show, British-born and Chinese-run MG Motor added the MG6 to its crop of display cars. The company is owned by SAIC Motor, a Fortune 500 company. MG is seeing increasing traction in the Middle Eastern market.
Managing Director of SAIC Motor Middle East Tom Lee said at the Saudi International Motor Show: The all-new MG6 will reinforce the brand's reputation for offering reliability and industry-leading value for money. By spending their hard-earned money on our cars in increasing numbers, customers across the region are clearly demonstrating their appreciation of MG's line-up of good-looking, well-equipped and technologically-advanced models.”
The 2019 MG Motor MG6 wears a sleek profile that masks its dual capabilities: the sedan is impressively frugal and yet offers decent performance when you want to drive spiritedly. The handsome, sporty design is accentuated by carbon fibre trim on the front bumper, dual chrome exhaust tips, and a 'Star Rider' front grille.
All its embellishments, in addition to its overall look, are courtesy of MG Motor's new, expressive design language. But don't think the company has skimped on the interiors. Inside, MG has given the MG6 sedan a bold choice of upholstery: a combination of red and black. Customers can also choose a beige and black interior trim if they so wish.
The MG6 is also loaded with technology to keep the geekier of us happy. You get an 8-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay, push-button ignition, dual-zone climate control, a tire pressure monitoring system, and keyless entry.
Finally, how does it perform? Well, it does come with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol motor good for 169hp and 250Nm. The really pleasant surprise is the MG6's fuel economy, despite offering thrilling performance. Here then, is a car that looks smashing, is well-appointed on the inside, has a lot of cool tech, and returns good fuel efficiency numbers. Pretty much the reason why MG Motor is steadily gaining popularity in the Middle East.
