The Nissan Patrol is a preferred choice of Abu Dhabi's royalty and has helped it further to cement its position as one of the best SUVs in the region. Nissan has evidently made its intention clear with the Patrol by giving it a magnanimous silhouette. This promises to be largely practical both in the city as well as roads less travelled. Since its introduction in 1951, Nissan has only graced the SUV with premium upgrades in terms of performance and features. And the 2019 model is no less.
Exterior
The Patrol stands as the biggest SUV in the Japanese manufacturer's line-up. It stretches 5165mm in length and is 1995mm wide. With a height of 1940mm high, the new Nissan Patrol has a wheelbase of 3075mm. This complements the massive trunk with 550-litres of space.
For 2019, Nissan has added more colours in the palette including the “Hermosa Blue” and “Forged Copper”. This is supplemented by other accessories which include newly-designed front and rear diffusers. Apart from that, the rear now comes with an optional new tow-hitch cover and chrome exhaust tip.
Interior
Nissan has maintained the premium touch on the interiors of Patrol. It has graced the high-seater with a good balance of quality materials from the leather steering wheel, wooden inserts and the dash with wood trims and infotainment screen.
It also comes with a host of safety features including Nissan's Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Brake Assist, Intelligent Lane Intervention, Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention and Intelligent Back-Up Intervention.
Performance
Nissan has retained the same engine as the last year that consists of the 4.0-litre V6 engine outputting 275hp and 394Nm of torque in the base trim. Meanwhile, the top-variant of the SUV comes with a 5.6-litre V8 that puts out 428hp and 560Nm of torque.
Verdict
The 2019 Nissan Patrol can be brought home in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries at a starting price of AED 181,000 for the base variant and AED 260,000 for the Desert Edition.
