A Jeep Smaller Than The Renegade?

Jeep has got a broad spectrum of products spread across the globe. The company is an expert when it comes to making some of the world's best luxury SUVs with commendable off-road performance. At present, the Renegade is the smallest SUV in Jeep's product catalogue. However, latest reports suggest that Jeep might be interested in bringing an even smaller SUV.
During the recent Detroit Motor Show, Jeep said that it is seriously considering its available options to come up with a sub-compact under 4-metre SUV. If the idea goes into production, the model is most likely to hit the assembly floor at the FCA's Pomigliano facility, near Naples in Italy.
Now, Jeep had this idea of building sub-compact SUVs for quite some time now. The project got delayed because Jeep like I mentioned before, produces extremely capable off-road SUVs, and with this small vehicle, it didn't want it to be anything less. It is finding ways to implement various off-road capabilities to this younger model too. So, all that requires time.
Also, it's being said that Jeep would utilise the FCA's Mini platform to develop its new vehicle. This is the same platform which has given foundations to Fiat Panda and the 500 lineup.
At this point in time, we've got limited information about Jeep's latest project. We're anticipating more details to be revealed sometime during June this year, as Jeep would finalise its decision on this topic.
