Toyota has introduced a new range of C-HR hybrid models in Europe. Building on its legacy, the next generation Toyota C-HR comes with avant-garde design, cutting-edge technology and a line-up of hybrid engines with a bump in power, better driving experience and extended all-electric driving capabilities. It is being built exclusively in Europe, including the assembly of its high-voltage battery units.

Technical Spec on the all-new Toyota C-HR

The Toyota C-HR comes in four hybrid powertrains that include 1.8 and 2.0-litre hybrid electric (HEV) versions and a 2.0-litre plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) model. The 2.0-litre HEV variant will additionally be available with the option of intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD-i).

The Toyota C-HR gets a 1.8-litre hybrid engine shared with the new Corolla hybrid version, offering increased power and eco-performance than the outgoing model. The hybrid 200 variant provides even more output for an exciting and efficient hybrid driving experience.

The 2.0-litre Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) engine provides smooth all-electric driving, and for longer excursions, it provides incredibly effective hybrid electric performance. It also provides a "one-pedal" driving experience with real EV capability, competitive range, and Regeneration Boost. In low-emission zones, it automatically converts to EV mode and optimizes energy economy based on navigation.

The 2.0-litre HEV version offers intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD-i) for improved traction and stability. It includes a compact, high-torque electric motor generator on the rear axle, operating effectively at different speeds over different driving conditions.

The C-HR offers quick and responsive handling. Additionally, the steering, brakes, and suspension have been updated and tuned to achieve the perfect balance between ride comfort and responsiveness of the car.

Interior details on the new Toyota C-HR

The all-new Toyota C-HR features an 8 or 12.3-inch infotainment display, depending upon the trim levels. The multimedia display has the Toyota Smart Connect multimedia package, an onboard voice agent and is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cabin also features ambient lighting with up to 64 colour options.

The 2024 C-HR also gets a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, which can be personalized using switches on the steering wheel. Along with the push button start system, the car will also be available with a digital key system, where the key will be on the user's phone.

Exterior details on the 2024 Toyota C-HR

The launch of the original Toyota C-HR was a landmark for the Japanese carmaker as it broke the mould of SUV design with its coupe-like lines. With its “super-coupe” profile, the new model brings the original C-HR's design a step ahead and makes it more aerodynamic.

The front-end design of the C-HR features the new face for Toyota SUVs that can also be seen on the all-electric bZ4X and new Prius. Featured for the first time on a Toyota, the flush door handles enhance the car’s road presence.

At the back, the C-HR features a dual-tone paint job that extends from the black roof, down to the rear bumper and into the car’s rear three-quarter section. The compact SUV is fitted with 20-inch alloy wheels. The cameras, radar, and headlight washers follow a “concealed tech” approach to blend in with the design.

The Toyota C-HR greets the driver with illuminated lights and applies their preferred settings automatically. Remote parking will also be available through an app. Online bookings for the compact SUV are open for Europe only.

Toyota C-HR Premiere Editions

The new Toyota C-HR is also available with two special Premiere Edition models - GR SPORT Premiere Edition and High Premiere Edition, featuring top-of-the-line equipment and styling.

The GR SPORT Premiere Edition will add GR styling details, including GR badging, a G-mesh pattern for the grille, new-design 20-inch alloy wheels, “Liquid Black” ornamentation on the centre console and sports front seats with the GR logo on the headrests. Along with the available colour options, the C-HR gets a signature Precious Silver colour. Additionally, the GR SPORT variant also has a head-up display and a JBL premium audio system.

The Toyota C-HR High Premiere Edition features a unique Sulphur bi-tone exterior, with additional colour choices available. Inside the cabin, it gets perforated leather seats, a head-up display, and a panoramic roof.

New Toyota C-HR Safety Features

In terms of safety, the Toyota C-HR gets the latest Toyota Safety Sense portfolio of active safety and driver assistance features. The car introduces new safety features like Acceleration Suppression and Proactive Driving Assist. Owners can choose an advanced safety package including Lane Change Assist, Driver Monitor Camera, Automatic High-Beam System, and hands-free driving in traffic jams (where permitted).
