The updates on the 2024 Mercedes EQA and EQB all-electric SUVs

Mercedes-Benz's compact electric SUVs, the EQA and EQB, have gained popularity for their SUV styling, powerful electric tech, and smart Electric Intelligence navigation. Now, they're even more enticing with fresh looks and new upgrades. The electric vehicles now get improved MBUX, advanced driving aids, Plug and charge, and optional Sound Experiences from larger models. Plus, the EQB with five seats now offers an optional trailer hitch.

The updated interior and exterior design of the new EQA and EQB

Inside the cabin, the cars now get touch control panels on the new three-spoke steering wheel, and the new interior trim in brown lime open-pore wood, optionally available for Progressive and Night Package. The cockpit also gets a backlit Mercedes-Benz pattern which is standard for Electric Art and AMG Line and optional for Progressive.

The EQA and EQB now come with a standard 10.25-inch touchscreen display with an updated generation of MBUX. The display can be personalized with various styles and modes and the MBUX is upgraded, and online services boost the voice assistant's capabilities. The SUVs also get an optional Burmester surround sound system with Dolby Atmos experience.

The EQA and EQB electric SUV now align their visual aesthetics with their larger model siblings. The EVs now come with a newly designed front grille that provides a distinctive look with star pattern graphics on the black panel surface, while a redesigned bumper accentuates the vehicle's wide front appearance. A light band runs across the front end, connecting the daytime running lights of the headlights.

The rear design of the electric cars has also been updated with new taillight components, a new tailgate design and a lightbar that runs across the tailgate joining both taillights.

The Mercedes EQB now offers an optional trailer hitch with ESP trailer stabilization for the first time which provides a maximum braked towing capacity of either 1,400 or 1,700kg, depending on whether it's the front-wheel drive or the 4MATIC version.

Both vehicles feature upgraded sensor tech with new cameras. The optional Driving Assistance package includes improved features, like more comfortable steering intervention in Active Lane Keeping Assist, instead of ESP reliance.

Charging the Mercedes EV SUVs

The latest EQA and EQB models are equipped with the Mercedes Me Charge Plug and Charge function that starts charging automatically when the cable is connected at Plug and Charge-enabled public charging points. It eliminates the need for additional authentication as the vehicle communicates directly with the charging station through the cable.

Mercedes-Benz EQA with Increased Range

The German carmaker has increased the driving range of the EQA to up to 560 kilometres, WLTP-certified. Increased range of the SUV can be achieved by improved aerodynamics and highly efficient, low rolling-resistance tires.

The new range-maximizing function is practical for daily use, allowing users to turn off energy-consuming features like the display or air conditioning to extend the vehicle's range.
