Mercedes has revealed the all-new C-Class and needless to say, it is a luxurious tech-fest. But let's talk about the big headline first - this is the first Mercedes ever to have no combustion engines on offer.
2022 Mercedes C-Class
In Merc's push towards an electric future, the C-Class is offered with electrified, turbocharged four-pot engines available in petrol and diesel flavours.
Design-wise eagle-eyed viewers might have spotted that the new C-Class has a cleaner design and more sharp lines as compared to the car it succeeds. All the cool stuff can be seen in the interior.
Inside you will find Merc's a huge 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.9-inch touchscreen as part of the second-generation MBUX infotainment system. The wheelbase is longer and as a result, the interior is more spacious than ever.
The C180 and C200 will have a 1.5-litre petrol engine giving the two models 168bhp and 201bhp respectively. In the C300 you will find 2.0-litre petrol capable of producing around 300bhp. The plug-in hybrid variants will have a 25.4kWh battery and have 309bhp and 406lb-ft of torque.
Along with the sedan model, Mercedes has also unveiled an estate model. Both the C-Class models will have an “increasingly sharp” Hey Mercedes voice assistant. What are your thoughts on the Mercedes C-Class? Tell us in the comments
