2019 BMW X5 Now Available In The UAE — cover image

AGMC, BMW's
official importer in Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates unveiled the 2019 BMW X5 recently in Sharjah. The X5 is one of the most popular models in the region, driving huge sales for the German luxury carmaker.
Compared to its outgoing predecessor, the 2019 BMW X5 is noticeably bigger in proportions. It also benefits from new muscular lines on its bonnet and sides, with the Hofmeister kink down its affirming the SUV's (or SAV as BMW prefers to call it) right to wear the propeller badge. Here in the UAE, the X5 is known for its blend of luxury and versatility. The 2019 iteration is no different.
The BMW X5 embodies the origins of the BMW X family and, in its fourth generation, sends out its most powerful message yet in terms of presence and modernity,” Adrian van Hooydonk, senior vice president of BMW
Group Design, said in a statement. “It defines a new X design language — robust, clear and precise.”
Inside, the 2019 BMW X5 gets a new steering wheel, revised gear shifter with a bedazzled head, a revised centre console with a new digital dashboard, and an updated iDrive onboard computer system. The upholstery is luxurious, typical of BMW
, and can be specced in any colour configuration you want. Additionally, the massive split sunroof adds a feeling of airy spaciousness to the already cavernous cabin.
Aspiring owners in UAE can choose between two powertrains: a3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine good for 340hp and 450Nm. The other engine is bigger- a 4.4-litre V8 that puts down 462hp and a healthy 650Nm. Both engines send power to all four wheels by way of an eight-speed automatic transmission. The straight-six powered X5 can hit the ton in 5.5 seconds while the V8 sends it rocketing to triple-digit speeds in 4.7 seconds. All-wheel-drive is standard across all trims.
So what's actually new with the 2019 BMW X5? Well, the SUV offers an optional off-road package that nets you an air suspension setup at both ends, additional underbody cladding to sail the underbelly through off-road sessions without taking costly hits, and new displays in the instrument panel. Drivers can also choose between four driving modes that optimize the transmission, power delivery, and stability control system to simplify driving off the road.
Prices for the 2019 BMW X5 start from AED 391,000 in the UAE.
