2018 Volvo XC40 Revealed

Volvo has revealed its brand new 2018 XC40 in Milano a few days earlier. This is Volvo's latest offering which is, undoubtedly, a small premium SUV. It wouldn't be wrong to call the new 2018 Volvo XC40 as a younger sibling or a tiny Volvo XC90.
The new XC40 is based on Volvo's new modular vehicle platform. It's called the CMA. And it's very likely that Volvo will use this platform in all of its future 40-series vehicles as well as its electric vehicles. The new platform has been co-developed with the owner Geely.
When it comes to design, the new 2018 Volvo XC40 is one of the best looking small SUVs we've seen. It borrows many features with the XC90 but a few new touches make sure that it stands out. The expression of its front facade is an angry little kid who has been grounded for a deed he didn't do.
The interiors of the new XC40 are made up of high-quality materials. It boasts of features like a big 9-inch touchscreen, satellite navigation, etc. The car also comes with a new digital key technology which will allow customers to share their Volvo with their friends and/or family.
The engine options available with the new 2018 Volvo XC40 include petrol as well as diesel. Initially, only four-cylinder engines will be available - a D4 diesel or a T5 petrol. Later on, Volvo will include three-cylinder engine options too and, perhaps, a complete electric variant of the XC40 would be seen.
Volvo has also introduced a new subscription-based service for its customers. It's called 'Care by Volvo'. It involves a monthly subscription fee. Volvo will start providing this service first to the new XC40 owners. Volvo says that its 'Care by Volvo' service will make owning a Volvo as convenient as owning a smartphone in today's world. It includes many digital concierge services such as fuelling, cleaning, service pickup and e-commerce delivery to the car.

The production of the new XC40 will commence at Volvo's plant in Belgium in November. Bookings are now open and deliveries are expected to commence from next year. The starting price of the new XC40 is GBP 27,905 (OTR) in the UK.
