Toyota Camry has been in the Middle East market since 1992. For over two decades, this car has been one of the favourite cars of the localites. Even today, it gets many recommendations to people who are looking for an extremely reliable vehicle. But with changing times and growing competition, it becomes kind of mandatory for car makers to keep revising even their best selling products. And as a result of this, Toyota has launched its new 2018 Camry here in the UAE.
The 2018 Toyota Camry (hybrid) was recently showcased at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show. Now, it's available in the market. The launch took place St. Regis Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, and Toyota even organised a drive at the Dubai Autodrome. The 2018 Camry is the eighth-generation of the car and is based on the all-new Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform.
Speaking about the new Camry, Saud Abbasi, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Toyota, said, “Camry is a staple model in the Toyota family and one that has proven documented success over the years with over 9 million cars sold in 2017. Since its introduction to the UAE three decades ago, it has become a national landmark and an intrinsic part of everyday travel. This abundant presence on the streets of the UAE is down to its class-leading fuel efficiency, high resale value and low total cost of ownership.”
The new 2018 Camry is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine that produces 298bhp. It's got a super-quick 8-speed automatic transmission. The second variant of the car possesses a 2.5-litre engine which, obviously, produces less power (178bhp) than its big sister. Instead of an 8-speed automatic, this one has got a 6-speed unit.
In terms of looks, well, the new Camry has got a newly designed two-piece front grille, which looks stunning.The headlights have got a sharp design and are pretty sleek. The new grille, the headlight and the bumper, all three complement each other very well. The car sits on 18-inch machined-finish alloy wheels. There's a nicely done spoiler too. Overall, the car looks pretty modern and would attract a lot of road presence even among other striking looking cars.
There are three variants of the new 2018 Toyota Camry V6 model - SE+, Sport and Limited. They are priced at AED 114,000, AED 122,500, and AED 124,500 respectively and are now available at Toyota showrooms in the UAE.
