Automobile enthusiasts, make sure you visit the Dubai Autodrome during 11th to 13th Jan 2018 because the 13th Edition of Hankook 24H Dubai endurance race is scheduled to take place then.
Preparations at the Dubai Autodrome have already begun to handle all the hustle and bustle that would happen during that weekend. Teams would start coming to the venue pretty soon and they'd be having some serious luggage, like a few containers with cars in them!
Faisal Al Sahlawi, General Manager of Dubai Autodrome, remarked, “Next week we expect to receive a massive grid of up to 100 race cars, 400 drivers and all of their support crews to our venue. We welcome all of our guests from around the world and we look forward with great anticipation for the start of this iconic endurance race.”
This year's endurance race is expected to have over 100 race cars which would include GT cars, Touring cars and especially designed 24H special cars. Last year's race winner, Herberth Motorsport team, will be back in a 991 GT3 R spec Porsche 911 to defend his title, and three-time 24H Dubai champion Black Falcon will also be in the mix, taking up the challenge with no less than four Mercedes-AMGs.
The action will begin on 11th Jan 2018 (Thursday) with the qualifying round, followed by two days of motorsport festivities. On 12th Jan 2018 (Friday), the race will commence at 1400 hrs and will continue for 24 hours straight till 1400 hrs on 13th Jan 2018 (Saturday). It is going to be thrilling 24 hours! After the race is completed, the drivers will participate in the renowned camel parade through a cheering pit lane crowd.
Entry into the race paddock and grandstand at Dubai Autodrome will be free to visit for spectators, and in addition to the featured race, there will be displays, cuisine and entertainment throughout the venue geared for the entire family. The popular Grandstand Village is set to return, providing a courtyard area for visitors to relax after watching the exciting race action and enjoy car displays, music and food trucks serving up culinary delights.
