New 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Launched In The UAE
It is a fact that we can’t deny that the Prado is one of the most popular SUVs in the UAE. For 2018, Al-Futtaim Toyota has launched the new 2018 model of the Land Cruiser Prado.
Toyota has made several changes in the new Prado to lure in more customers and add a lot of modernity to this platform. The company claims that the changes have been done to make the vehicle more practical in off-road conditions. Toyota has focused on driver’s visibility of what lies ahead and to enhance it, the company has done slight alterations to the bonnet of the vehicle. It has been re-shaped a bit in the centre to provide that much more visibility.
The front bumper has been redesigned and offers a better approach angle. The look also aligns better with its older sibling, the Land Cruiser 200. The new 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has a raised radiator grille. Also, the headlight position has been lifted up to blend in with the new grille. These changes have been implemented to provide more off-road functionality to the vehicle. To add a premium touch, the new Prado is also available with full LED headlamps which come as an option.
Once you look inside the new 2018 Prado, you’ll notice that Toyota has made certain amendments in the design of the dashboard, especially at the top of the centre console area. Toyota has lowered this a bit to provide a clear view of the road ahead. The new car also comes with a new eight-inch full-colour touchscreen, flush-surface HVAC control panel and drivetrain-related instrument cluster.
Toyota has also focused on enhancing the illumination inside the cabin. You get white lighting in the instrument panel, centre console and door switchgear, and LEDs are used in the front footwell, roof headlining, glove box and door panels. There are three colours for the interiors that you can pick from; Black, Brown/Black and the new Premium Beige, paired with silver metallic finish and light brown or dark brown wood trim finish.
In terms of safety, the higher end models of the new 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado are equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense active safety suite, which includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert and automatic high beam functions. It also comes with a few additional features like a blind spot monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and an upgraded tyre pressure warning system.
There are different engine options available with the new 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado; a 2.7 litre, in-line four-cylinder petrol engine which churns out 161hp of max power and 246Nm of peak torque, and the other one is a 4.0 litre, V6 VTT-i petrol unit which puts out 249hp of power and 381Nm of torque.
