If you own a Mitsubishi Pajero you should be aware of this news that a total of 53,918 Pajeros have been recalled in the UAE because of defects in the airbags.

Al Habtoor Motors is the official distributor of Mitsubishi cars in the UAE market. It has announced this news of recall after receiving instructions from the Ministry of Economy. As per the instructions, all V90W/V80W models of Pajero manufactured between Jan 2013 and Dec 2017 should be recalled.

According to a press statement made by Al Habtoor Motors, “We regret to inform that due to usage condition, the changes of temperature and longtime humidity, the propellant (ammonium nitrate) in the inflator for passenger side frontal airbag may be deteriorated and, as a result, the inflator body may rupture at the time of airbag deployment. Therefore the frontal airbag inflator for passenger side has to be changed.”

To rectify the situation, Al Habtoor Motors will be contacting the customers of the affected vehicles and will notify them of the issue. If your Pajero is manufactured in the aforementioned time frame, you are advised to contact Al Habtoor Motors for more information. They are open from Sat to Thur every week from 0800 hrs to 2000 hrs.
