General Motors and Dubai Police have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which the former will develop road safety and traffic management technologies in the UAE with the help of OnStar.

For those of you who don’t know, OnStar is General Motor’s In-vehicle safety and security system. But what is the benefit of OnStar? When a GM vehicle with OnStar will be involved in an accident, then the system will send an alert Operations Room at Dubai Police which will allow the police to act in a speedy manner.

What’s more, GM will also work towards promoting road safety in collaboration with Dubai Police. Luay Al Shurafa President and Managing Director of General Motors Africa and Middle East said, “We are honoured to sign the MOU with Dubai Police, marking a milestone in connectivity and in-vehicle safety and security services in the Middle East.”

“Our vision of a future with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion is perfectly aligned with this ambition and we are proud to be bold and supportive partners with the UAE government and the wider region, working towards a cleaner, brighter tomorrow.”
