Ford’s small car the Figo was introduced in 2015, and Ford has already started testing the face-lift. An array of Figo test mules were recently spotted at Brazil. Though we get the Ford Figo from India, the overall design is largely the same.

From the pictures, it only looks like a minor update, with major changes being the all-new bumper with the wider and sportier looking grille, and under the camouflage, the headlamp looks to be sleeker now.

On the sides, the biggest change is the larger wheels with sportier design. The Figo had always had under-sized tires, and this update thankfully addresses this.

Changes to the rear are very minimal, and most probably restricted to the lower half of the rear bumper only. And the tail lamp shape seems to be the same, while the internal detailing has received a minor update to freshen-up things at the rear.

The interiors are not visible from these set of images, however expected changes include a touch-screen audio system and trim improvements to make the interiors feel more luxurious – which has been one of the weak points of the otherwise competent Figo.

The biggest and the most exciting news though, is the changes under the hood. The news doing the rounds is that the 4-cylinder 1.5 L Ti-VCT petrol and the 6-speed DCT transmission would be replaced with a 3-cylinder 1.5 L engine from Ford’s new Dragon family of engines, and an all-new more responsive 6-speed transmission. The new engine is expected to produce around 120 HP, making the Figo even nicer to drive.
