Audi’s Range Rover Sport Rivaling SUV Q8 Spied
Audi showcased the flagship SUV concept – named the Audi Q8 earlier this year. The Concept received favourable responses to its design which had both the butch SUV stance, as well as Audi’s understated design elegance.
As expected, the production Q8 closely resembles the concept with its sculpted rear wheel arches and a taillight cluster that spans the width of the SUV. We also spot a rear liftgate spoiler, five-spoke alloy wheels and some black exhaust tips integrated into the rear bumper
It comes as no surprise the layout bears a striking resemblance to the tech-heavy dashboard of the all-new A8. We can easily see the dual touch panels, one for the MMI infotainment system and the other for the climate control settings and other functions. Perhaps the biggest difference between the two is the continuous vent design of the Q8 in line with the look of the Q7 whereas the sedan gets two central air vents with electrically operated shutters that open and close.
The Q8 will ride on an extended version of the Q7’s MLB platform, and is expected to come with an array of engine options from the Q7 and the A8 range. A hybrid engine is also speculated to be part of the engine options.
The production version of the Q8 is expected to debut sometime next year, but it might probably not arrive in the UAE until 2019.
