Audi Sport Enters 15 Cars In Hankook 24 Hours Of Dubai
Audi Sport customer racing had its largest representation in the UAE yet at the Hankook 24 Hours Of Dubai. A record 15 of the 77 cars on the grid are from the pavilion of the Four Rings. Audi Sport will be competing in the GT3, GT4, and TCR classes.
This year, Audi Sport customer racing will be represented in the race with its three current products. Eight teams are racing the new Audi R8 LMS GT3 which was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 2018. The Audi R8 LMS GT4 will be pushed hard around the Dubai Autodrome by Fox Motorsport. Six customer teams in the TCR class are competing in the firm’s lineup with the Audi RS3 LMS.
Chris Reinke, head of Audi Sport customer racing, says: “The 24 Hours of Dubai is an outstanding club sport event. Amateur drivers are able to share the cockpit with pros, and compete with them to clinch victories in their class and overall.”
Team MS7 by WRT is relying on Vincent Vosse’s seasoned and successful Belgian race team in the new R8 LMS GT3 car. Two Audi Sport campaigners Christopher Mies and Dries Vanthoor, as well as Saudi driver Mohammed Saud Fahad Al Saud, are also on board.
In car number 9, BWT Muecke Motorsport team will be on track aboard their new R8 LMS GT3 and will have Markus Winkelhock at the wheel as their pro driver and DTM champion.

Free practice and qualifying sessions were held on Thursday. 77 teams will start the 24-hour race at 3:00 PM today, 11 January at the Dubai Autodrome. The chequered flag will drop on the afternoon of Saturday, 12 January.
