Aston Martin has made the V12 Speedster look a whole lot more desirable by giving it a special DBR1 spec. For those of you who don’t know, the DBR1 is Aston’s legendary racing car from the 1950s which conquered both the 1959 24 hours of Le Mans and the 1,000 km of Nürburgring in 1957 and 1958. Also, the DBR1 won the Nürburgring with Sir Stirling Moss behind the wheel, so its a pretty special car.

The DBR1-spec Speedster gets a classic Aston ‘Racing Green’ paintjob, a silver anodised grille and white roundels on the bonnet and doors. But the Speedster is a roofless missile which means that you will need some helmets while driving it and Aston knows that. The folks at Gaydon will also give the Speedster owners green racing helmets. Perfect!

Underneath the bonnet you will find a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 also powering the DB11 and DBS. The Speedster has 690 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque on offer. All the power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

We are told that the Speedster can hit 0-100kph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 319kph.

Inside you will find Caithness Green leather and satin silver brushed aluminium switchgear. The car sits on lovely 21 inch centre lock wheels. By now the paintjob must have stolen your should and we can confirm that boffins at Gaydon spend more than 50 hours in the painting process. WOW

Aston Martin are still taking orders and will only sell only building 88 Speedsters, so if you want one in this DBR1 specification then you better be quick.
