Land Rover has given a bunch of updates to the latest Range Rover Velar both externally and internally, making it a better package than the 2023 model. The new exterior changes make it look more striking yet minimalistic at the same time. The refreshed interior of the Velar is more simpler and subtle, thanks to the new infotainment screen.
Exterior updates on the 2024 Range Rover Velar
The Exterior of the SUV gets minimalistic design changes. On the front, the Range Rover Velar gets a newly designed grille and new headlights along with Signature Daytime Running Lights giving the car a sharper look and better visibility at night. At the back, the car gets a new rear bumper and new taillights which makes the SUV look more muscular.Along with the exterior changes, two new colour options have also been introduced - Metallic Varesine Blue and Premium Metallic Zadar Grey.
Interior updates on the 2024 Range Rover Velar
The Interior of the Velar facelift is where the major changes can be seen, from the redesigned dashboard to the new interior upholstery.The new Range Rover Velar features a new 11.4-inch curved glass infotainment screen at the centre stack, The dashboard has also been redesigned and gets a clean look complementing the Velar's new interior design. The infotainment system doesn't have any buttons now, instead, it is fully controlled by the touchscreen and is equipped with the latest version of Land Rover's Pivi Pro infotainment software which supports wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and voice commands from Amazon Alexa. Land Rover’s Pivi pro infotainment system uses over-the-air updates for its software. The startup screen reminds you to turn on defrosters and heated seats.
The controls for the climate, seating and audio volume can be found in the sidebars of the curved glass touchscreen, featuring multi-functional sliding controls on both sides. These virtual buttons provide instant access to commonly used items such as individual front passenger temperature controls, audio volume and terrain response modes. The new infotainment system is easier to use and 80 per cent of tasks can be performed within two taps of the home screen. Another update inside the Velar's cabin is an optional air purification system, Land rover says that it can improve the cabin environment by monitoring the interior and exterior air and adjusting accordingly. Moving on towards the Range Rover Velar's driver side, you will find a fully digital instrument cluster and a few fancy light controls on the steering wheel.
The new Range Rover Velar debuts with four new leather colour options for the upholstery - Cloud, Caraway, Raven Blue and Deep Garnet. These are complemented by carefully selected details such as the new Moonlight Chrome accent on the steering wheel, centre console surround and air vents. Wood veneer trim in technical light anodized or dark anodized aluminium or shadow grey ash adds to the elegance. A leather-free interior option is also available for the latest Velar, which uses a combination of wool from Danish textile experts and polyurethane textile inserts, featuring a new Diamond Herringbone perforation pattern.
The cabin of the Velar minimises road noise with Active Road Noise Cancellation technology making the Velar, the quietest vehicle in its class for road noise.
Technical updates on the 2024 Range Rover Velar
The 2024 Range Rover Velar is getting a larger 19.2kWh battery pack for the P400e variant, increasing its electric-only range to 64km on the WLTP cycle, around 20% more than before. The plug-in hybrid variant is powered by a 105kW electric motor combined with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine and generates 398 horsepower and 640Nm (472 pound-feet) of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 209kmph.The latest Range Rover Velar P250 variant with a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine now features a new eight-speed automatic transmission providing a smoother-shifting experience. It makes 247 horsepower and 365Nm (269 pound-feet).
The P400 variant with the turbocharged 3.0-liter, inline-six mild-hybrid powertrain that produces 395 horsepower and 550Nm (405 pound-feet) is still available but its lower-power sibling carrying the same powertrain, which produced 335 horses is now discontinued from the lineup.
The rest of the powertrain variants remain unchanged for the 2024 model year.
