Nissan Middle East has revealed the new 2019 Nissan Patrol with a slew of mild updates to the SUV and the addition of new colours to the palette.

The Nissan Patrol received its last major overhaul way back in 2010 and has been soldiering on with timely nips and tucks to keep it fresh every year. Not that Nissan has been pushing the SUV aggressively; the Patrol is a runaway success for the Japanese automaker on account of its rugged durability, decently powerful choice of engines, and the sheer practicality and versatility it brings to the table.

The 2019 Nissan Patrol gets slightly revised front and rear diffusers along with grey side fenders. Roof rails are now available to spec on the SUV, and there is a new metallic-slate KAD roof standard, along with new side-mirror indicators integrated into the wing mirrors. Customers can now choose to add an optional row hitch cover and new exhaust tips, both new for 2019.

The new Nissan Patrol gets two all-new colours for 2019 model year: Hermosa Blue and Forged Copper Brown.

Inside, there are no changes to the cabin layout, but Nissan has added a host of safety and assistance features to the popular SUV. You get Forward Collision Warning and Intelligent Brake Assist which also warns the driver of any potential hazards in front of the vehicle. Intelligent Lane Intervention detects and warns the driver of lane drift, while Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention brings the presence of other cars in the Patrol’s blind spot to the attention of the driver.

Other safety systems standard across trims include six SRS airbags, Active head restraints, automatic Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Automated Hazard Warning Signal, and Crash-Sensitive Door Unlock.

The 2019 Nissan Patrol comes with a choice of two powertrains. You can opt for a 4.0-litre V6 that generates 275hp and 394Nm, or go for the advanced 5.6-litre V8 that puts down 400hp and 560Nm. Both engines are mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission, with the last manual option being ditched in 2017.

Prices for the 2019 Nissan Patrol start at AED 181,000 including 5 percent VAT. You can now buy the new Patrol across all Nissan Dealers in the UAE.
