The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé was unveiled earlier this year and is finally making its way to the UAE. Mercedes-Benz Car Middle East unveiled the car at an exclusive event in Abu Dhabi at the brand-new Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort.

So you have always wanted a German performance car with an AMG badge slapped on it. But you have a family, and can’t imagine the lot trying to fit inside your brand new AMG GT Coupe. The C63 and E63 do not suit your visual needs, while the S63 is simply too expensive. That leaves you with the AMG SUVs, which you don’t prefer due to their dimensions. The CLS 63 is also a bit too curvy for your taste.

Where does that leave you? Well, in front of the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé, of course! “The new AMG GT 4-Door Coupé blends the impressive racetrack dynamism of our two-door sports car with maximum suitability for everyday use. It has a unique way of embodying our brand core, “Driving Performance” and with its systematic configuration it will attract new customers for Mercedes-AMG”, commented Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

The GT 4-Door Coupé offers a lot of cosmetic packages. For instance, there is the Night Package that adds high gloss black trim and the Chrome Package that adds high-gloss inserts around the car’s body. An Aerodynamic Package gives the car a sportier appeal. Two distinct Carbon Fibre Packages replace various parts with their carbon fibre equivalents.

Upon arrival, the GT 4-Door Coupé comes with two choices of power output: a GT 63 that makes 585hp and the GT 63 S that makes 639hp. A 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 motor in separate states of tune powers both these trims.

Mercedes-AMG will introduce the six-cylinder GT 4-Door Coupé trims in early 2019. We are looking at the arrival of a 3.0-litre inline-six engine that is rated at 435hp. Eventually, a hybrid version will join the lineup, but whether it will come to the GCC is as yet unclear. Inline-six versions of the car can be specified with a V8 style package.
