2021 Lexus IS 350 F Sport Review | Is It A Good Sport Sedan?

Welcome to the 3rd generation of the Lexus IS series which was first launched in 2015. The Lexus IS are meant to be sporty sedans with luxurious interiors done in the most Lexus ways. The particular model I tested was the 2021 Lexus IS 350 F Sport Platinum.

The new Lexus IS 350 is powered by a 3.5-litre, V6 engine that produces 311 bhp and 378 Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed direct shift automatic transmission and is a rear-wheel drive (RWD). The engine is naturally aspirated and may feel slightly slow to respond. The power though immense still lacks that low rpm response. It does not throw any unwanted surprises. (good thing and bad thing at the same time). Lexus has also replaced the steel control arms with aluminium ones to make them lighter. They have included additional welds in the chassis to make it stiffer.

The F Sport package has a lot of additions like the piano black front end grill, 19-inch forged alloys, F Sport leather seats, 17-speakers Mark Levinson surround sound system. And a 10.3-inch infotainment system that is a touchscreen. The touchscreen feature makes working around the Lexus infotainment system much easier, removing the need to use the not so friendly trackpad.

The 2021 Lexus IS 350 F Sport competes directly with the BMW 3-Series, Cadillac CT4-V, Genesis G70 and the Mercedes C-Class.
