New Limited Edition Audi R8 V10 RWS Coming Soon
Audi is extending its product line up for its customers in the Middle East by bringing its new R8 V10 RWS. It is a limited edition series which will be available specifically for our market. A total of 999 units will be available for purchase.
The new Audi R8 V10 RWS is a rear-wheel-drive car. It is inspired by Audi's LMS GT4 racing concept car. And it features a beautiful sounding, one of the last naturally aspirated V10 engine.
It is a striking-looking car. The new matte black front grille adds to the sporty character of the vehicle. There are also a few touches of gloss black in the Coupe variant.
The cabin of the car gets sports-seats for the two occupants. They are covered in leather and Alcantara. There's also an option of replacing the standard seats with the bucket ones. Since the new Audi R8 V10 RWS is a limited edition model, there's an emblem on the dashboard which says the number of the car out of the 999 units.
Speaking about the arrival of the new R8 V10 RWS, Oliver Hoffmann, Head of Technical Development at Audi Sport GmbH, said, “The Audi R8 V10 RWS successfully brings the drive concept of our R8 LMS GT4 racing car onto the road. The V10 engine is not just one of the last naturally aspirated engines in its segment, it is also used in racing with an almost identical construction to the mass-production model. We have only made minimal adjustments to comply with regulations.”
Powering the new Audi R8 V10 RWS is the 5.2 TFSI, naturally aspirated V10 engine which produces a whopping 540 hp of max power and 540 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 RPM. The new Coupe variant of the car is 50 kg lighter than the R8 Coupe V10 and weighs 1,509 kg, whereas the new Spyder variant weighs 40 kg less than the R8 Spyder V10. Because of the weight reduction, the Coupe model goes from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.7 seconds, and the Spyder model gets the job done in 3.6 seconds.
Audi has tuned the chassis of the new R8 V10 RWS to allow controllable drifts. The chassis works along with the electronics, and after pushing some buttons and adjusting the settings, controllable drifts are possible.
The new Audi R8 V10 RWS will be available in the Middle East from April. The prices for the Spyder variant of the car starts at 514,500 AED, whereas the Coupe variant is a bit dearer with a starting price of 577,500 AED.
