GOOD DESIGN Awards: A Seal of Excellence

The GOOD DESIGN Awards, a collaboration between The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies, hold significant prestige. Fortune 500 and global leading companies vie for recognition in various categories annually.

Transportation Category Triumphs

Hyundai Motor's triumph in the Transportation category was marked by four outstanding products – N Vision 74, IONIQ 6, Grandeur (Azera), and Kona. Notably, the N Vision 74, a high-performance hydrogen hybrid 'rolling lab,' achieved a grand slam by securing all four major global design awards (iF, IDEA, Red Dot, GOOD DESIGN).

N Vision 74: A Global Design Awards Grand Slam

Part of Hyundai Motor's heritage communication initiatives, the N Vision 74 represents a futuristic vision inspired by the 1974 'Pony Coupe Concept,' the first independently developed Korean sports car prototype. Its global design awards grand slam reaffirms Hyundai's cutting-edge design identity.

IONIQ 6: Sensibility and Efficiency Combined

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 EV captivated attention with its sleek exterior and stylish interior. Its smooth streamlined design not only minimizes wind resistance but also achieves the highest aerodynamic coefficient (Cd) of 0.21 among all Hyundai Motor vehicles. A perfect blend of sensibility and efficiency, the IONIQ 6 stands out in the all-electric vehicle market.

Grandeur (Azera): A Fusion of Heritage and Futurism

Grandeur, with its advanced design reinterpreting the heritage designs of previous models, emerged as a flagship sedan embodying comfort and luxury. The futuristic exterior styling complements an interior designed for maximum comfort, elevating the Grandeur's status in Hyundai Motor's lineup.

Kona: Future-Oriented Electric Elegance

Kona, with its unique design elements, showcases a future-oriented image distinctive to electric vehicles. The seamless horizon lamp, prominent surfaces, and sharp lines harmonize to emphasize elegance while inheriting iconic design elements from its predecessors.

Interactive Media Category Triumphs

Hyundai's success extended to the Interactive Media category with two outstanding designs – the 'Seon' connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) infotainment system and the 'Hyundai Sans UI' mobility-exclusive font.

Seon: Next-Gen Infotainment System

Seon, a new design theme integrated into the next-generation ccNC infotainment system, delivers a differentiated graphic design. Linear elements such as straight lines and ovals convey familiarity and comfort, enhancing the overall user experience.

Hyundai Sans UI: Mobility-Exclusive Font

Hyundai Sans UI, the mobility-exclusive font applied to ccNC-infotainment systems, contributes to improved legibility in any external environment. Its smooth curves and refined straight lines ensure consistent visibility, enhancing the completeness of Hyundai's infotainment system.

A Legacy of Excellence

As Hyundai Motor basks in the glow of its success at the 2023 GOOD DESIGN Awards, it reinforces the brand's commitment to pushing design boundaries in 2024 as well. The awards, in their 73rd year, remain a beacon for innovative design, recognizing excellence in form, materials, concept, function, utility, and energy efficiency.
