Geneva International Motor Show 2019: Updates Team / Posted On - December 28th 2022

March is here. It's time for automotive enthusiasts to witness one of the most extravagant, incredible, and diverse events of the industry. Yes, Geneva International Motor Show is back for the 89th time this year. Stay tuned to this article as we update it regularly with the best stuff from Geneva.

Kia Imagine Concept

Kia introduces the Imagine concept with 21 screens on the inside. But apart from the silly name and a questionable number of screens, the Imagine is a curtain raiser of what Kia plans for its lineup in the future.
The Imagine stands as a swoopily shaped, somewhat muscular high-hauling electric sedan with suicide doors. A new logo badges the car along with other 'futuristic' elements like the LED DRL that frames that car as if it had worn sunglasses. The company has been suspiciously tight-lipped about the performance but we are told that like many others, the batteries will be sandwiched in the floor that feeds an electric motor or two.

Aston Martin Vanquish Vision Concept

The Valkyrie inspired Vanquish is set to stir up a storm if commissioned for production. It will compete against popular monikers such as Ferrari 488 (now F8 Tributo) and McLaren 720S with a V6 engine that we earlier talked about in the 003. No information about its displacement or power has been unveiled yet, but considering the F8 Tributo and 720S have conquered the 700-hp mark, we expect nothing less from the Vanquish.

Mitsubishi Engelberg Concept

Mitsubishi unveiled the Engelberg SUV concept at the Geneva Motor Show with a plug-in hybrid system that will replace its current PHEV system on the Outlander.
Mitsubishi will couple the 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine to a 20kWh battery pack underneath the floor. The same will supply power to two electric motors in the front and rear. It is expected to run 70km on pure electricity with a maximum combined range of 700km.

Lamborghini Aventadr SVJ Roadster

Drop the top and hold fast, for a thundering 759-hp V12 seated behind you can wreak massive destruction upon you if you are caught unawares. Lamborghini's cars have always been visceral to look at and to drive. The latest from the Raging Bull's stable is this Aventador SVJ Roadster that chops off the roof and manages to look, if possible, even more stunning.

Piëch Mark Zero

Another electric car makes its way to Geneva, this time wearing a legendary name in the automotive industry. The Piëch Mark Zero is Piëch Automotive's first car, featuring a 603hp output from three electric motors, all wrapped in a pretty grand touring body and setup.

Subaru Viziv Adrenaline Concept

Subaru brought no new cars to Geneva this time around. There is, however, the very radical Viziv Adrenaline concept that could make it to the roads as the next-gen Crosstrek or another, newer model altogether. Details are scarce regarding the concept crossover until now, but it does look quite fresh, especially with its bold and generous use of cladding. The half-doors, high rear hatch, and again, that cladding makes us wait impatiently for a production model's arrival.

Mercedes-Benz EQV

It's classic Mercedes-Benz all over again. The firm saw a niche without players, designed a car around it, and will now sit back and watch as other players scramble to develop their own iterations for the segment. The Mercedes-Ben EQV is the world's first electric people carrier, and will make its production debut at Frankfurt Motor Show later this year.

Morgan Plus Six

Looks like it's not just Toyota and BMW that have benefited from co-developing the new straight-six for the Supra and Z4. Morgan approached BMW regarding a powertrain for its new-generation roadster, and BMW obliged with the straight-six. The end result is a rather gorgeous Morgan Plus Six that is unfettered by a mess of electronics and all but the most crucial safety systems. And it has a part-aluminium, part-wood chassis!

Koenigsegg  Jesko

Cheers to the good father who birthed Christian Von Koenigsegg. The founder and CEO of Koenigsegg automotive pulled the wraps off the Swedish carmaker's latest creation that directly occupies the top rung of performance in automobile territory. It can do 482kph, features a nine-speed transmission with seven (seriously) clutches, and has a 1,600-hp V8 under its hood. Word is, there's a Jesko 300 in the works, with 300 indicating the car's target for top speed, in miles per hour.

Bugatti La Voiture Noire

Here it is, the multi-million dollar one-off grand tourer based off Bugatti's Divo hypercar. Inspired by Jean Bugatti's "lost" Type 57 Atlantic, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire turns up every aspect of the Divo to sensational levels. The design, performance, artful throwbacks- everything is simply perfect. How will Bugatti improve on its own perfection going ahead? One thing's for sure: any young enthusiasts out there that still believe in old-fashioned paper pin-up posters are going to go crazy for this French beauty, garbed in black.

Audi Q4 e-Tron

Electric cars are all the rage today. Zero emissions, low maintenance, low wear and tear, spacious interiors- these are just some of the attractive aspects of an EV. Audi, in typical fashion, has injected its own DNA into the EV and created the Q4 e-Tron. This electric crossover is scheduled to go into production after the e-Tron SUV and e-Tron GT four-door electric saloon.

Pininfarina Battista

Pininfarina is ready with its electric hypercar. Initially codenamed PF0, the firm christened the EV after the founder of Pininfarina. Three distinctly designed Battista hyper-EVs are headed to Geneva, showcasing three different aspects of the car as well as the company that built it.

Ferrari F8 Tributo

It is here. Bold, red, sleek, sexy, and more powerful than before. For the longest of times, Ferrari has been continually pushed back in the supercar game by McLaren with its critically acclaimed Super Series cars. The 2019 Ferrari F8 Tributo is the prancing horse's entry in the supercar segment, locking horns directly with McLaren 720S.

Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder

Not wanting to be left behind in the supercar segment, Lamborghini has chopped its entry-level car's top, leaving behind a much more desirable automobile. The 2019 Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder is every bit as focused as its coupe sibling, but adds more charisma to the package thanks to its superb retracting roof.

Bentley Bentayga Speed

Say hello to the world's fastest production SUV. The 2020 Bentley Bentayga Speed may not match the Lamborghini Urus's face-tearing acceleration, but commands a higher top speed than the Italian to snatch the coveted title of the world's fastest production SUV for itself.

Polestar 2

The Polestar 1 is a 600hp electric coupe designed and positioned as a halo car. Technology from the coupe will trickle down eventually to other, newer models in the Polestar lineup, beginning with the Polestar 2. The Swedish EV maker is taking a shot at Tesla Model 3 with the Polestar 2 which arguably looks better-finished and premium than the American EV.

Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic

Bugatti practically confirmed a special edition model in the works, due for a reveal at Geneva. It is, in the company's own words, inspired by the gorgeous Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic from 1934. The new Atlantic adopting a front-engine layout might not happen, but we can be sure of a stunning modern take on a timeless vintage automobile.
