2024 Kia EV9 Specs Revealed Ahead Of Debut This Year

Kia has revealed full details and technical specifications of the 2024 Kia EV9 electric SUV. The first three-row electric flagship SUV from Kia offers design both inside-out and is loaded with cutting-edge features and technology. The EV9 leads the Korean brand towards a sustainable era as a mobility solutions provider.

Technical specifications of the 2024 Kia EV9


The Kia EV9 features a broad choice of electric powertrain configurations and specs based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and uses Kia’s fourth-generation battery technology.
The electric SUV gets a 76.1kWh battery with the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) base model, while the RWD Long Range and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variants feature a bigger battery pack of 99.8kWh.
The single motor on the RWD Long Range model produces a peak output of 203 horsepower and 350Nm and it accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 9.4 seconds. It comes with 19-inch wheels.
The Standard RWD EV9 is powered by a slightly more powerful electric motor delivering 217 horsepower and 350Nm, which can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 8.2 seconds.
While the dual-motor AWD variant generates a total power output of 380 horsepower and 600Nm combined torque. This enables the SUV to achieve 0 to 100kmph acceleration in just 6.0 seconds.
Further Boost features, which can be bought later at the Kia Connect Store, provide even more powerful performance and increases the combined output to 400 horsepower and 700Nm, enabling the EV9 to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 5.3 seconds.
One of the several features includes the Highway Driving Pilot (HDP) system to be included in the Kia EV9 GT-line in the future that will enable conditional Level 3 autonomous driving features for selected markets. The EV9 is also compatible with Over the Air (OTA) upgrades and brings the Kia Connect Store for users to purchase digital features and services.

Charging and Range of the 2024 Kia EV9

The EV9 is based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) which guarantees sporty performance and provides the RWD Long Range model with an all-electric range of more than 541km (WLTP). Its ultra-fast 800-volt charging capability enables the vehicle to run for 239km in just 15 minutes of charging time.
The EV9 comes with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality through its Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), enabling to use of up to 3.68 kW of power for charging laptops and other electronics.

Interior details of the 2024 EV9

The Kia EV9's interior design includes a well-ventilated, luxurious interior with a floating panoramic dashboard that runs from the steering wheel to the centre of the car. The EV9's infotainment console has a few physical buttons and a 12.3-inch touchscreen display combined with a 5-inch section display and a 12.3-inch instrument console.
The start/stop function, along with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control, is provided by a series of hidden type touch buttons underneath the infotainment console. The car also gets Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC), which has features like rapid control, integrated search, and a new EV mode that allows drivers to monitor and control all the data and features of the car's electric power system on a single screen.
The Kia EV9 is offered in seven-seater and six-seater configurations as well as four different second-row seat options. The first row features relaxation seats. The second row of the vehicle features four seating options for the first time in any EV, including three-seat bench seats, basic-type, relaxation-type, and swivel-style two-seater independent seats. The third row seats also include cup holders and mobile device charging ports.
The EV9's interior offers a total of six different combinations, from a light modern grey to elegant natural tones and a more sporty one for the GT-line.

Safety features on the EV9

The Kia EV9 comes with 10 airbags and hosts a number of safety features including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2), Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA), Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) and Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2).

Exterior details of the 2024 EV9

Influenced by the brand's 'Opposites United' design philosophy, the EV9 carries a unique balance of natural and modern elements. The EV9's design has been significantly influenced by the "Bold for Nature" design pillar, which encourages the fusion of elements from the natural and material worlds.
Front-end design of the electric SUV features a 'Digital Pattern Lighting Grille', vertical LED headlights, and 'Star Map LED daytime running lights (DRL)'. The distinctive digital tiger face design is made up of two clusters of tiny cube bulbs located next to each headlight in the bodywork. Through its sleek and sharp exterior, the EV9 achieves an aerodynamic coefficient of 0.28.
Kia has also unveiled the GT-line model along with the standard one. The GT-line model features a striking black exterior with 21-inch black wheels that exudes a powerful presence. The GT-line also has an innovative "Digital Pattern Lighting Grille" that enhances the dynamism and refinement of the vehicle's design.
The Kia EV9 has an overall length of 5,010 mm, a width of 1,980 mm and a height of 1,755 mm. It gets a 3,100 mm wheelbase and its wheel size options include 19-inch, 20-inch or 21-inch alloy wheels.

Availability and Pre-booking of the New Kia EV9 electric SUV

In the second quarter of 2023, Kia will start accepting pre-orders for the EV9 for the Korean market. In a few international regions, the Kia EV9 will debut this year in the market and would be on sale after the second half of 2023.
