After dropping a series of teasers across its social media platforms, Lexus has finally brought the 2021 IS sedan into the light. And it is quite a looker.
Design
The 2021 Lexus IS sedan is radically restyled with a new spindle grille. The grille is flanked by LED lights with integrated LED DRLs. Newly styled side skirts and a set of 18-inch alloy wheels add a muscular stance to the car. The rear features a curvier bootlid, new bumper, and restyled taillights connected by a thin illuminated strip. But of course, you saw the strip in the teasers.

Technology
Lexus chose to continue with the outgoing IS's interior design for the new-gen sedan. Featuring a mild update, the car's dashboard features circular air vents at the outside edges and a 10.3-inch infotainment screen now integrated with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa. Lexus has retained the Mark Levinson sound system, upgrading it to 1,800 watts of power. Sweet music fills the cabin through a total of 17 speakers.
Drivetrain
In true Lexus fashion, the IS sedan uses two badges to denote two powertrains on offer. In the UAE, two trims - IS 300 and IS 350 - are available, with the latter using a 3.5-litre V6 for motive power. The V6 generates 311hp and 379Nm, while the turbo-four makes 241hp and 350Nm. Lexus has ruled out the possibility of offering an IS-F trim. However, customers can still drive around in the Lexus IS-F Sport that pulls off a sporty look.
Pricing
The outgoing Lexus IS could be yours starting from AED 150,000. The new-gen sedan might cost a bit more owing to new tweaks to the product. In the UAE, the 2021 Lexus IS competes against cars like BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, and Infiniti Q50.
