Hyundai’s biggest SUV yet, the Palisade was introduced to the world in 2019. Geared towards large affluent families, the Palisade is highly spacious with three-row seating. Developed at the company’s US design headquarters, the SUV debuted Hyundai’s new split-headlight signature design which has trickled down to cars like Creta and Venue. Powering the SUV is a 3.8-litre V6 good for 295hp and 355Nm. The Palisade touches 100kph in 7.4 seconds and has a top whack of 210kph. Its engine is as fuel-efficient as it is powerful, giving owners an economy of 10.4l/100km. And you still get AWD standard across all trims. Inside, all three rows get separate cooling outlets, with the middle row passengers treated to very generous seating space. Captain’s chairs are available for the middle row, and access to the third row is smartly designed as well. Hyundai offers seat ventilation for the front and middle rows as an option. There is no dearth of creature comforts aboard the big Korean, with a touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, premium audio system, a supple suspension setup, cubbyholes around the cabin for storage, Bluetooth telephony, steering-mounted controls for infotainment, and an air purifier which Hyundai claims can even keep out Sars Cov-2. Talk about staying ahead of the times. With its presence-commanding size, and equipment rivalling cars from higher segments, this SUV is a steal deal.
